Irish for Beginners

Poor
I hate that there’s no phonetic spelling assistance. Also, there’s no literal translation of texts - not knowing what each word means (as the word order, structure and sounds are completely different from English) means you end up having to learn parrot fashion but even then without knowing how to pronounce the words!!It contains very few explanations.Quite well illustrated

Wow! That was quick.
This book arrived today - just one day after I ordered it. I am impressed! It is exactly what I wanted. Very well laid out and easy to follow. The CD helps with the pronunciation. Excellent! Would Recommend.

Irish for Beginners.
As with the rest of this Usbourne Series this is a ' fun' way to tackle a new language. It is soon easy to say and write simple but essential words and phrases. It helps that there is a pronunciation guide, also a simple guide to grammatical use plus a vocabulary. It will not take me deeply into this Gaelic language but helps with comparison with other languages. I think children would enjoy using this book.

Perfect introduction
I bought this handbook as a present for my cousin, who's been planning to move to Ireland for a while. She's very satisfied with it: it's clear, user-friendly and entertaining enough to whet your appetite for more. Now, results obviously depend on how motivated/skilled you are and how much time you can devote to the study of a language, but I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get acquainted with Irish.

My fourth irish book.
For me as a Norwegian is is not easy to understand all of it but because I do like this Language so much I do start to see how to get involved in the Caelic Language - exiting!

No audio?
The lack of a CD makes this a lot less profitable than expected when attempting to learn Irish.A version with audio recordings has been published, but I can't seem to locate it.

All Irish books should be like this
At last, an Irish language book that accepts that you don't understand the language yet and teaches it to you through English. The format is friendly and uses plenty of images to reinforce learning. I studied Irish in school for 14 years and this book has taught me more than I ever learnt then. Usborne, please bring out the next one.
