I didn’t know if it would work. It does what is described. Easy to set up. Best of all I chose this to store music and use on IPh one. Using Windows 10 you don’t have to use iTunes for playing the music on the iPhone simply sync to to USB device. Only negative is the instructions are printed very small you almost need a magnifying glass to read them. It was a great purchase!

This is a pretty good buy for the money. Sure, it’s way ahead of the name brand models in terms of storage capacity, but it’s woefully inadequate in terms of available software for interfacing with an iPhone. Overall, in terms of product quality, looks, and storage capacity it’s pretty good, and I actually give those features 4 out of 5 stars. Like many other drives in this niche market, (products exclusively geared for iPhone backup, and storage,) it doesn’t fit very well in the slot on the Otter Box phone protector, and still make a solid connection. I had to trim away the, “excess,” rubber on the Otter Box so that it makes a solid connection every time. (I’m upgrading the phone soon, so the protector can be sacrificed, but that might be an issue for some folks. Turning it to a 90° angle, rather than leaving it straight, seemed to help, but it didn’t completely resolve the matter. Software is available via a free download at the App Store, (a simple QR code on the included insert sheet takes you right there,) is where I finally took issue, and gave up on the idea of it being a good option for my phone. It downloaded super easily, but was also super poor in features. We have a newer Sandisk that’s a paltry 64GB in size, but even for a drive that small, it’s, “billionaire,” rich in functionality, when compared to this, “poverty stricken,” doo-dad. Price is nice, but you definitely get what you pay for. I’m keeping this unit just the same. It will get used, (and for those things it’s a good unit,) especially on the laptop. But, in the search for iPhone specific software / hardware solutions, this one really isn’t the best option for me.Price, looks, and functionality gets 4/5, but software for a specific purpose 1/5. Overall…3/5. And yes, it’s cheap enough that I will be able to use it elsewhere, just not on the iPhone.

After loading the referenced app, it is simple to back up your phone. Just plug in the usb drive, select what you want to backup and hit the exchange button and all is safe on the usb drive. It is also possible to copy photos and documents to the phone in formats that it understands.I still need to try data exchange with my tablet but expect it to work fine. (UPDATE) I have tried to get my 6th generation iPad Mini running the latest version of the OS to recognize the USB drive using the yDrive app. I had no success using the provided USB C adapter. The iPad was not able to see that the USB drive had been connected. This does not appear to be the product you want if you want to transfer photos or backup your contacts to an external USB drive. There appears to be no source of support for this product so either it works or it does not. There is no help for figuring things out.Your files on the usb drive are completely available to your computer.I don’t have an android device but the connector needed for that device is included.Highly recommended for iPhone

However, I did encounter a minor hiccup - the app occasionally froze. But, the solution is simple: just unplug and reconnect the flash drive, and you're back in business. Overall, this product is a great addition to my tech accessories. Four stars!
