No Good Deed [DVD] [2014]

I was hoping to be 'wowed' by Idris Elba in this movie, because he is a good actor. However, his part had no real depth and was therefore not as frightening as he should have been. On reflection I think the film must have been made as a vehicle for the main female lead because she had most of the 'action' although I wasn't convinced by her character any more than the male lead. And the idea that the female lead could overpower the male lead several times without too much trouble was laughable.

Marvellous thriller well played by the actors and given an A grade plus rating. Slightly different to most but the suspense is killing and great to watch, the story unfolds when he commits murder of his girlfriend and panics, racing out of town he has an accident and finds a home with lights on and than pretends to want to use the phone for a tow truck. Now the good person who is suspicious of him standing at her door tells him she will collect the phone for him and than closes the door. Good judgement but he gets her mind of things by other means that he gets in the house and now it's on for young and old. She's worried about her daughter and herself and has got to survive somehow. This is a sit on the edge of the seat thriller with plenty going on all around to keep your mind racing from one place to the other. So gather up your movie and munchies get settled in for a fabulous night in with a super show. Enjoy!

My favourite genre is Home Invasion and this excellent movie does not fall short from this tension. The 4 star rating compares my 5 stars for Them and Funny Games.Excellent acting and extremely tense throughout but especially the first half hour.I wished the movie had gone on for longer. I guess it was that good that the 1hr 24 mins flew by! Very gripping stuff with a surprise twist at the end.

Enjoyed this film. It had me on the edge of my seat. The two lead characters were excellent, especially Idris Elba, he had obviously done his homework and really got into the part of playing a psycho/narcissist. A well deserved 5 stars from me.

The only thing I can say about this film is to go out and buy it you will not be disappointed. It had me on the edge of my chair all the way through the film.

Bon film à suspense, on est tenu en haleine du début à la fin, excellente interprétation d'Idriss Elba et de TarajiP. Henson, alias "cookie Lyon", bon ça ne révolutionne rien, mais c'est efficace et on passe un bon moment.

A nice housewife allows an excaped convict in her home when he has car trouble. It was stormy outside. He begins to terrorize her. Her husband is away on a business trip. There is an interesting twist in this movie at the end. The convict's girlfriend who didn't wait for him in jail is where he takes her and she sees he killed her. The ending is excellent and the movie keeps you interested and glued to your seat to find out what happens to this convict and her husband, too.

This movie was extremely suspenseful. Although I did not favor seeing Idris Elba in a bad role, he did NOT disappointed. Also was not a fan of that horrendous wig on Taraji's head for a majority of the movie. Seriously though....who is THAT NAIVE with a stranger and they have 2 kids, I don't know ANY mother that would have allowed access to her home, but.........it's a movie.

Great Movie. I love Suspense Thrillers and this one does not Disappoint. Twists and turns and keeps you on the edge. Also: Nothing like watching it on Blu Ray. The colors and clarity - just immerse you in the film.

I love a creepy, suspenseful movie and Taraji P Henson and Idris Elba do a great job with the material given. Just sit back and enjoy the crazy!

If you are expecting to pop this into your dvd player or laptop, guess again. It will not play on either of these devices unless you go to Sony's website and put in your credit card info. I still don't know if this will work, cause I stopped there. Would not enter my credit card info so I never got to see the movie. Amazon was spectacular. They credited my account instantly when I requested a refund. One star is too many for this movie, but Amazon gets 5 stars.

No Good Deed was a really interesting story.. Idris Elba can just stand there and I would buy it.. Edris and Taraji P Henson did their usual great job of telling this story. Although the movie's premise was pure evil, I was able to enjoy the most of movie even with the violent theme. Idris came to Taraji's door claiming the need to use her phone, once inside her home he holds her and her two small children hostage because he wants to make a point to her. The point only becomes clear at the end of the movie.. You will be amazed!!

I lost my dvd of this movie and when I searched on other sites to compare prices they were a little more than I wanted to pay for such an old movie. When I saw the blu ray on Amazon for an incredibly price I hurried up an purchased it.

I did not like the idea that the DVDs order are cheap copies. I am worried about the longevity of the DVD and the durability.The viewing of the tape is clear

Plot a bit thin, not that great of a part for Edris. But, got to admit, got it for him - shower scene, ichee-wawa.

The actress Taraji P. Henson, did agreat job with her role. Every role she plays she makes it her own. Her trusting character in this movie came over very realistic, and showed the love in her heart. Though lonely somewhat, she maintained her self control. Idris Elba, he did an excellent job with his character, which showed his vast talent to tackle what he needs, to make a movie believable.The movie was very entertaining, left you guessing as to what would happen next. Then you find out ... no cigar, guess again. It's gripping movie, from start to finish. I recommend it.

This movie kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Surprises at every turn

The story portrayed in this film is pretty much spelled out in the trailer. Crazy escaped convict terrorizes a woman and her kids.That's pretty much it, but there is a nasty little twist in the story that I did not see coming (although I did have a feeling). You know.... When you ask yourself "surely it isn't this" and come to find out .... Oh yes, it is. I have to give Colin (Indris Elba) a lot of credit for playing it super cool to make his way into the house. Although you knew he was the "bad" guy who is eventually going to snap, you kind of find yourself liking him for a little while (with his fine self). Terri (Taraji P. Henson) was a relatively smart women who made some serious errors at the beginning of the film, but had I not known in advance what was going to happen, I probably would not have thought that she did anything wrong. She was just trying to be nice and do the right thing. Meg (Leslie Bibb) is Terri's best friend and she drove home the point that no one knows you better than your best friend. At first I thought that she was going to be a little ditzy, but she proved me wrong. Jeffrey (Henry Simmons) is Terri's husband who does not seemed to be vested in the relationship. This is very apparent right from the beginning. I went to the 2nd showing on the day the film was released and I have to say that the theater was pretty well populated. The one thing that I have to say about seeing a film with a diverse crowd is that folks talk (out loud) to the people on the screen (myself included). Toward the end of the film I heard myself saying "how does she think that's going to work" and then immediately after that I said "why does he think that worked"...... you'll see what I mean when you go to see it. Other than that, there are three reasons why I liked this film...., the great lead characters, the consistent flow of the film and finally the whole story was told in around 90 minutes. This is director Sam Miller's first attempt at a widely distributed feature film and I think that he did a pretty good job

A good sit on the edge of your seat story of a woman who makes dumb choices & a con man jailescapee!
