'FLOPPY POTS'.................They're GRRREAT!!!
Ok, a couple of reviews on here say that these pots are too thin and flimsy. I think they might have bought the wrong type of pots in the first place. These pots are designed for planting tree seedlings, and yes they are thin and 'floppy ' when empty, but the moment you fill them they act like normal pots.I purchased these posts specifically for three reasons.1: to pot up leek seedlings, and spring onion seedlings. Whilst they're a bit too small to be planted in their final growing beds.2: to grow on sweetcorn seedlings. Sweetcorn hates having any root disturbance, so it's a challenge to find pots with sufficient depth so the roots have plenty of space to grow. These post have given me the best sweetcorn plants I've EVER HAD.The leek seedlings respond really well to having a much deeper pot than usual.3: I also use these pots to grow on my tomato plants. As soon as the tomato plants are about 9 inches tall, I pot them in to these deep pots, burying the stems of the plants so that you leave only about 4 inches above the pot rim. Tomatoes will then create and grow new feeding roots from the buried stem (remember to remove any leaves that would be beneath the soil level)The tomato plants seem to respond fantastically to this sort of planting, they grow super fast, strong, and because of the extra roots they produce a bumper crop. Finally I transfer the tomato plants in to saved square deep pots you usually buy roses, or raspberry canes in. Those square pots will finally sit, in grow bags/ crop bags, having 1st had their bases removed. The tomato roots have as much room as they need to grow on and feed the plants and of course the crop of fruits.I've even had great success in using these pots to grow fig cuttings. One reviewer has written that he/she doubts if these 'thin posts' could be used again which "would be bad for the environment. " I've been using my pots for over 7 growing seasons! And they're still going strong! And as they're made from recycled black farm film (the sort used to wrap silage bails) I think they're an excellent option.BTW, my neighbour has purchased these pots, as they're perfect for planting rose and wisteria cuttings. Any kind of cuttings that need a good depth of soil to successfully grow a good root ball.EDIT: One last point to leave this review with. A reviewer, has stated (as I've mentioned above) that these pots are floppy, I find their floppyness to be an advantage. I have a huge collection of plastic flower pots, which I look after, wash and keep them safe for repeated use, but (and it's a BIG but) After a while, the rigid plastic pots (even with the best care) crack and become brittle. I've been using these floppy pots. (Might be a markering name here for them. Note to manufacturer: I'm happy for you to use my name for them, 'FLOPPY POTS' for a percentage of the revenue! Lol) For over 7 seasons, and they're still going strong.

Great for Starting Plants / Trees
As others mention these are thin plastic. They end up more round than square but these are great for starting off plants and things which have big roots. They do stand on their own when full but not stable. Grouped together they work great. Putting them in a rectangular tray is the way to keep them together.

Useful tall plastic pots.
I had to find something to transplant some very leggy plants into. They have worked so far, fingers crossed. They are not hard plastic pots as stated in their description, but once full with compost they are sturdy enough and stand well. Good value for money and I expect that I can use these again.

Extremely flimsy, had to send them back
Worth paying extra for betetr quality as these just aren't up to the job. Also, they will easily topple over if not well supported on at least 2 sides.

good for very young trees
A bit thin but fine once filled. Used for Sweet chestnut seedlings

Reusable seed containers
These are very useful for sewing deep rooting seeds but with hindsight, should have bought slightly smaller size, as needs a lot of compost to fill. Like the fact the soft plastic means they can be packed away when finished with for season, but won't take up much room. Think I will trim off some of the tops of pot

Excellent for getting deep roots
I noticed people complaining that they don't keep there shape and to thin.If you want a definite shape then these aren't for you. Yes they are thin, but so far it doesn't seem to be an issue. The depth means you can get nice deep roots and the flexibility means it's easier to get the plant out when it comes to replanting.I bought 20 to try them out then bought more as they take up less space than previous pots used. Can't comment on durability, but the traditional plastic pots aren't very long lived.Hope this helps you decide.
