Fine
Content and footnotes are fantastic as expected. Only thing to note is how thin the pages are. This is perfectly reasonable given how many pages there need to be - if they were thick made of normal paper then the book would be huge. Saying this, the book is quite large and heavy. Definitely of better value than buying the 8th or 9th edition at four times the price! Also note buying second hand with highlighting and notes on was a good money shaving investment as you can still read the text with ease.

As agreed.
Arrived on time and is perfectly usable, so I'm satisfied with my purchase. The book was in the condition I knew it would be in, so no problems there either.

A wonder of modern publishing
3000 pages long. Text quite small but I find it comfortable to read with glasses. This is the only book you need if like me you are interested in the broad sweep of history over centuries and how writers have documented it and have been influenced by it. The notes that explain old words now out of use or the context in which events happened are really helpfuland the selections of text from some very long books are just long enough and taken from the right place to give useful insightinto the complete works. Written by American professors who seem to be more interested in England than the English the Norton anthologyis truly one of the wonders of modern publishing . If I could afford it I would buy the whole set new. I wouldn't mind if they added some illustrationsand made it 4000 pages. I 'm not a student and don't need to carry it around !
