It works
It is a bit flimsy. Aluminum would be better.

Kuryakyn Quality! Can't beat that!
You can't beat the name brand quality, BUT, if I had my say, this would be made from a mild metal of some sort. Maybe aluminum or magnesium. This is too high of a stress part to be plastic. Yes, I know, the designers over at Kuryakyn are probably reading this and screaming at me right now, saying "but that would scratch the the gas cap!!" Look, if someone was that stupid and careless to scratch up their own gas cap, that's their problem. If you can't use a metal key like that without scratching up a gas cap, you need some medication. It's not a surgical procedure. The fit isn't that tight. Those nubs on the plastic keys break off way too easy.

I like it. Looks ok, works ok. Nothing special but it's a should have to match the gauges if you get those.
Oddly seems to be harder to fill the tank now. this is basically a gas cap in a gas cap. the outside screws in to the old filler threads in the tank and a smaller center screws in to that. More secure. Works fine on my 2012 FXDWG with a pressurized system and Fuel injection. Not totally flush mount as I'd like due to cap in a cap design not a true flush mount type of thing and the gas filler is right at the edge of the curvature in the tank but looks ok. No real clue why I have to fill the tank slower to prevent it from splashing out. The hole left with the cap in a cap thing is plenty big enough for the gas nozzle even though slightly smaller than a factory cap allows but a change in tank ventilation or something and not being able to see what's going as well as with the factory cap means you have to fill slow and careful or get a tank//motor/boot wash in gasoline. Seals fine. and I have no complains with the plastic "key" that some have on some of the forums and places online.

Problem solver
This product solved an ongoing problem with a tank I made two years ago. The old gas cap was a flush mount/pop up style and though it worked great, it would still leak a bit when the gas splashed inside the tank. With this set up, it prevents leakage and controls splashing onto the tank when filling up at the pump. Very easy to install, cool looking, and nicely made. The only thing I would change is about this set up is that it requires a tool every time you opened the gas tank that you have to keep with you at all times. It would be absolutely perfect if it wasn't for that. I still give it both thumbs up, though.
