Convenient store cupboard whole button mushrooms with acceptable flavour and texture
Cooks & Co Whole Button Mushrooms are a convenient store cupboard item. They have an attractive appearance and are a good addition to stews, casseroles, stir-fries, pasta sauce, and similar dishes.The tinned whole mushrooms lack mushroom aroma; however, the flavour is not full-bodied but is decent for a product stored in brine (it's worth rinsing them and draining well). When halved or quartered, these button mushrooms are a good pizza/waffle/toast topping or omelette/pancake filling. The mushrooms work well when stir-fried with herbs or spices or included in a mixed vegetable dish or salad.The texture of tinned mushrooms is not comparable to fresh but it is convenient to have these on hand. The drained weight is 1.2kg and it's recommended to use them within 3 days after opening.We find these mushrooms convenient and have ordered them several times. I'd recommend them to others who need similar amounts on hand.

Good to have in stock for when I cannot get out to buy fresh mushrooms which we have frequently.

AN EXCELLENT STANDBY
These make a very pleasant standby and I can thoroughly recommend them. Naturally most would prefer fresh mushrooms but these have the great advantage that they don't go off.
