Nice Pergolas
I bought two of these to make one large pergola. These are nicely made and less wobbly than others I’ve seen around. The instructions were pretty easy to understand and while it did take awhile to put each one together, this is possible with the help of another person. I like that they are available in white to match the trim of the house. Other brands do not offer as many color options. The look and feel really transformed the space.

Great for the structure. Shade area on the small side.
I love love love my convection oven. I am still getting used to it but I use it everyday from making toast to air fry crispy chicken wings. You do have to be careful with the dials if the time has not run out before your finished just leave the oven door open and the timer will continue to count down. Like the reviews online dont turn the timer dials back by hand because you could snap the dial off. That is a small price to pay for such a great appliance. I read the reviews before I decided on this appliance and it is everything and more happy with my purchase. see lessSummary: We bought the 10 x 10, white with gray canopy. The white and the gray are nice. The 10 x 10 size will not do much for shade unless you have a way of making the sun stay directly overhead while you are using it. I would not recommend paying more money for a larger size.Detail:We were really hoping this would provide some shade on our deck. But unless you are under it as the sun is directly overhead, it's not going to offer much. It will basically be a 7-8 foot shadow moving across your deck over the passing of the day. We were hoping to attach a mosquito net (made for some other pergola since this company doesn't make one) around the perimeter but I don't think that is going to work either. I'm still trying and will update with pictures if we figure something out so that maybe someone can benefit from our experimenting. I have just ordered a 10 x 12" shade canopy to try to affix to the afternoon sun side of the pergola to provide a shade wall. I will try to attach the mosquito netting (by adding grommets) I just ordered as well to see if we can at least use this structure to hide from the mosquitos. I'm not worried about the top since mosquitos fly horizontal for the most part. We've only had it up a very short time so we'll see how it does in a real wind but I think it should be okay.Other things to be aware of:This will probably arrive with some sort of damage and/or missing parts. Ours came with four V plates that the screws wouldn't thread to, so we couldn't secure the posts. We contacted the company, which has nice customer service reps but is in China so our communication took three days since they answered during the night and I answered during the day. If you order this pergola and have a problem, send them details, pictures and your Amazon order number in the first email. We then had to wait a week and a half for the parts to arrive from China. Some of the posts were a bit dented but they were perfectly functional and the company didn't replace them. I have a feeling the posts will easily ding and dent anyway. The canopy is noisy. The breeze will make it shift back and forth in its metal slides most of the time.Unless you're tall, you'll need a stool to secure and unsecure the canopy to its holding brackets when you want to extend it or slide it back and out of the way.It comes with a "roof" but rain still gets in the folded canopy, and definitely in the roof. Not a big deal for us. The kids love dumping it. It's A LOT of water.Right now I'm regretting this decision. I'll have to put more money into this in order to be able to use it. At the least, you'll probably want a sidewall to really give you the shade you'd hope to get from this. So this is basically a structure from which you can hang and/affix other things like sidewalls, triangles canopies, and maybe mosquito netting.

This thing is strong
I don’t leave too many reviews but this one deserves it. We live in western North Carolina and unless you live under a rock you know we got decimated by Helene. The winds were unlike anything I have ever seen in my life and this thing held on like fresh dog poo to the bottom of your favorite sneakers. It didn’t warp, it didn’t bend, it hardly even flinched. The canopy is completely undamaged and still looks great even though it filled with rain water. It was pretty easy to put together (I recommend a cloudy day). Other build it ourself things we have are nothing but twisted sheet metal at this point. Like our Shed. She flew over the rainbow and into our garage and knocked it down onto our brand new cars! We finally got power and WiFi back 11 days later and I had to leave this review. Buy it, you’ll love it.

Awesome pergola!
The 13 x 10 Purple Leaf pergola is a great product and a great value for the price. Assembly instructions were very well written and easy to follow. Each step was clearly defined and conceptually pretty simple. A lot of the work was assembling long pieces from the short sections that were apparently made to facilitate shipping. There were a LOT of screws that were used to join the smaller sections. However, an electric screwdriver (I.e. a torx bit in our cordless drill) made installing all those screws a lot less tedious than they would have been if we had used the hex wrenches that were provided. The pergola looks even better in real life that it does in the pictures. And the retractable awning works super well and we love the little roof to put the awning under when we are not using the patio.Oh and last but not least, Purple Leaf customer service is excellent. We they sent us assembly instructions by email after ours were destroyed by accident (don’t ask). They also answered questions and provided tips about the assembly.

Nice unit but some challenges
Overall, we like the unit, but it is slightly smaller as the dimensions reflect the extreme overhang. A size of 8' by 11.5' exists between the center of the upright posts. Assembly was a bit challenging, particularly with respect to orientation. The plastic caps for the screws were tight and difficult to place, but a little warmth helped somewhat. The hole (insert) covers were far too loose and had to be glued in place. There was an insert missing from one of the canopy rods, but the company eventually supplied a replacement. The canopy has a habit of floating across even with a bungee cord tied to the patio table below, so it does not stay under the protective cover. When sliding the canopy across, the clips securing the canopy were too tight and had to be forced wider to slid in. I need to figure out a way to lock to canopy when retracted.

Good quality and light weight
It takes two people to assemble and at least 4 to hold and connect the 4 sides when up, but mostly two adults can get it done. Manual is very helpful and detailed. Light weight, cover fabric seems to be good quality.

Great Product for the money.
It arrived in perfect condition in a heavy duty box. Their were a few small dents and the base plates had bent tabs. The damage wasn't from shipping, it is from poor quality control. There was one missing leg part (A2). The seller sent one in two days! Very responsive service. The assembly book is mostly pictures (drawings). Took around 8 to 10 hours to assemble. FYI, the loops on the canopy face up. This isn't a high end product, but it is a good value and looks great.
