The Little Mermaid Live Action Novelization

I enjoyed it probably more than the movie but I read more than I watch tv so take that with a grain of salt I guess

Such a cute version of the story. If you loved the movie, you gotta get the book for extra cute little details about Ariel and Eric’s relationship.

From my ten-year-old: This was such an amazing book! And I know you'd think that Ariel is the main character, and she is. But it is told in a way that makes it seem like different people are the main character at different times which makes it an awesome read. Even though I've seen the cartoon I was still in suspense during the climax! Definitely recommended!

My girls love this! The chapters are perfect for before-bedtime reading. The illustrations that are included are shiny and bright. each chapter has a little seashell illustration page that makes it extra pretty.The reading level is probably best for 3rd grade or higher. My 1st grader can read most of it but some of the words and phrases are challenging for her.

My daughter fell in love with the new movie and as it’s summer and I’m trying to get her to read more I wanted a Little Mermaid book based on the new movie. But I had trouble finding one that was the right reading level and none of the available books had pictures or reviews with pictures to show what I needed. (The actual text and the thickness of the book) So I included some.Also there’s 252 pages so it truly is a chapter book. The other reviewers pics show the books pictures which are beautiful but give the appearance that this is more of a picture book than it is. There’s 8 small photos. It is probably a little advanced for my 8 year old starting third grade but she loves the story so maybe it will push her.

Ariel has been my favorite princess since I was 10 years old. To see her in life action is a dream come true. I loved that the movie will not only expand the story, but also expand the characters of Ariel and Eric. I’ve bought every bit of Little Mermaid gear I can get my hands on. I can’t wait until opening weekend. I plan to see it all 3 days.

I know I’m not the intended age group but I loved this book and the movie itself. It was so cute to read the Eric and Ariel moments and as I’ve seen the movie a few times already i was able to picture everything as it happened. get this book you won’t be disappointed ❤️❤️

O livro traz exatamente a história da animação de 1989, dos estúdios Disney, mas aqui há mais elementos que deixam a narrativa bem mais dinâmica e realista. As diferenças que existem nesta adaptação vieram para somar e dar mais destaque às personagens que são mais carismáticas. A vontade de ler essa novelização veio por querer saber, com antecedência, o que esperar do live-action protagonizado pela magnífica Halle Bailey. Os capítulos lidos aguçaram a minha curiosidade, mostraram uma Ariel que carrega a emoção da personagem da animação, só que nesta versão ela é muito mais corajosa, fiel e real.Para fãs de A Pequena Sereia, para colecionadores de versões do clássico conto de Hans Christian Andersen, para quem ama o longa animado da década de 1980, esse livro é um pequeno e belo tesouro.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the film.Based on the novelisation, what worries me is the amount of drive nostalgia gets.But I do like how they have fleshed out Eric’s backstory and character and given Ariel more depth too.They have a much better connection this time around.Their fates and lives have been intwined and I love that.I’m trying not to spoil anything major in this review.It does seem to mirror the animated version. But with a few embellishments here and there.I couldn’t put the damn book down. It was delivered in the morning and by the evening I’d finished it.It made me laugh, cry and feel so many other emotions.Basically I was an emotional wreck by the end.I believe that this might be a hit film but I’m still going in with low expectations because I don’t want the hype surrounding the movie to cloud my judgement.But having read the novelisation, I’m intrigued even more now and very much looking forward to going the cinema to watch the film.
