Great value waterproofs for school actitivies
I bought another brand of waterproof set for my then nursery-age daughter a couple of years ago. That, of course, no longer fits but just like this waterproof set, it was a great purchase and well worth the money. The time has come again where the school, who are very much outdoors active, have started up their forest school activities ready for the Spring/Summer seasons. As always, they ask parents to send in full waterproofs to stay in school to enable activities on different days as/when required. So bearing this in mind, I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something she'd only be able to use in school as occasional wear. There were different colour options available, and my daughter chose the royal blue version. With this set, you get a jacket and pants in a nifty little bag to tuck them back into. My daughter has just turned 6 and is very slim, but tall for her age - tallest in her class, in fact. I was tempted, then, to go for the 7-8 sizing, but some of the reviews made it sound like this would drown her. I instead opted for the age 5-6 sizing. This was definitely the right choice. The jacket length is generous, coming down almost to her knees and there is plenty of room for a larger-width child. The arms were slightly too long, however you can fold them back (there is a double-material cut at the end which makes it easier to fold back an inch or two at the ends and stay flat). The pant length is also a bit too long, however the press-studs on the bottom of the pants pull them in and stop this from being a problem. The elastication around the waist was tighter than expected - not a problem for my daughter as she's so skinny (and so it was beneficial for her not having loose-fitting pants) but could be uncomfortable for a much wider child - which is the only thing that seemed a little odd considering the over-sizing elsewhere in the set. Nonetheless, the quality of the fabric and comfort in wearing it was great. The hood rolls and tucks with a velcro fastening and was a good size, with the zip going quite high to allow good wind protection around the neck / chin.Even going on to age 7, possibly beyond, this set would still fit her. With the adaptations in the cuffs and ankles it makes it easier to stretch out the wear of this for quite some time, making it even better value for money. This is a great item for occasional wear particularly in-school use.

i went with my gut feeling and mothers instinct
i wasnt very sure on what size to buy my daughter, as ive brought clothes on here her age size and they was perfect maybe they come up big im not sure, buying tops for her is easier than buying bottoms due to her leg length i have problems with all the time, my daughter is 11yrs so i got 11-12yrs my daughter is tall and slender for her age so i was alittle worried as i didnt no how the sizes was going to be, some clothes near her age fit perfect or alittle small depending on what shop or where i go, the top fits ok the arm length is where it sort of should be sitting on the wrist but for me i like tops to be slightly longer like i would like sleeves to go to where the knuckles are or just over them, the length of the trousers was okish there the same as the top they are sitting on her ankle just above i usually wouldn't buy clothes when there like that and would send them back, but i brought these for a trip my daughter is going on with the school in a few weeks and i didnt have alot of time to get everything and the list was like huge, but she will be wearing wellies over them so no problem there, so if you was buying this set and your child is tall i would go a size up maybe, as an example im 5ft 4inch and my daughter is about 5ft just over, so i buy 12-13yrs clothes as they fit how i like them but sometimes that size can be very big or small to, so thats why i wasnt sure on the size to get her especially leg length thats where i have the trouble alot, so all i can say to you is read some of the reviews on here as it might help alot, i read them but i was still very unsure and abit confused to be honest, you no your children better than anyone i went with my gut feeling and mothers instinct on size. but this set is really nice i couldnt fault it even when my daughter tried it on it looked lovely on just shame about the size issue. im not sure how it will hold up on the activities there going to do hopefully it wount rip.

Nice waterproof set
This is a nice waterproof set. I bought it for my daughter and it kept her dry. Comes in a carry bag and folds up well. A decent waterproof set especially for the price.

Jacket isn’t great but trousers are good.
The trousers are good. The sizing was good and we’ve used them quite a few times. They’ve got a small hole in the knee now but we’ve used them and they were cheap so it was expected. Elasticated waist which was good. Kept my little boy dry.The jacket was really big. We used it once and the zip broke which was disappointing. It certainly isn’t a coat for warmth. Not sure how water resistant it is because it broke before we could test it.
