WELL MADE, TOP HOLLYWOOD EPIC THE FIRST WIDE SCREEN & STEREO.
The first Epic hollywood movie shown in Cinemascope wide screen and 6 channel Stereo. The acting is first class with a wonderful over the top performance from new young actor Jay Robson (who in real life was a really nice fun guy). This movie saved 20th Century fox from bankruptcy and changed the format of all movies to come.Cinemascope was the copyright of Fox but evolved into Panavision in early1960's when hollywood studios collaborated into a common wide screen standard called PanavisionThe story is quite fast moving solid story and remembered by audiences 70 years later.

Richard Burton Rocks the uniform.
Set in the era of Rome & at the time of Christs crucifixion, a rebellious Richard Burton is sent to Palestine to arrest Christ & his followers. He then has the dubious pleasure of nailing him to the cross. He then wins Jesus's robe in a dice game & when he touches it it sends him demented. He struggles with his inner demons but eventually becomes a Christian & his mind eases.Stella cast, stunning locations & great dialogue & best of all, recorded in English.A classic of the Hollywood era & well worth watching.

Good choice forn the Collector
The first film I ever saw in Cinemascope (Wide Screen) I was very impressed, and still admire the technical skills that went into the making of this film, it had never been done before for public viewing. Although "Anamorphic Filming" dates back to the 1930`s. Worth watching.
