FELCO Model 231 Anvil Lopper (80 cm, Lever-Action), Red

There's very little to choose between these and the ARS ARS-LPA-30L which I returned after a comparison. Both are very good loppers, both equal in quality and performance but I preferred the more simple yet presumably more robust hinge mechanism of these Felco loppers. However the price of these Felcos is substantially more.The aluminium tubing for the handle is both light and strong although does scratch easily if it rubs against another steel tool. The blade is very large (same size as those of the ARS) and high quality.I've used these for the initial lopping of the outer dead branches of an apple tree prior to using the pole saw and then the chainsaw for a full dismantlement. These anvil loppers are also great for cutting roots as the dirt would ruin bypass loppers when carrying out this task.I preferred a straight anvil as its easier in confined spaces to get the blade around the wood.

Exceptional tool that is a pleasure to use. Expensive but as soon as I picked it up I could see that it is well built - no plastic components, very high quality build that looks like it will last for ever.Lovely to use, very lightweight and eats blackthorn tree branches like they're twigs.

Quality. Worth getting.

I bought the Felco loppers as my last ones broke after 6 months use and the previous ones blunt very easily. I chose this manufacturer as I my Felco secateurs are over thirty years old, have always worked well and have only needed sharpened once. These loppers are not cheap but are made from quality metal and cut very well.

Have most of the felco products.As i garden professionally very happy with these products it's been 25 years worth paying for the right tools a little oil and sharpening once in a while and a rub down with jeys fluid and your away sturdy and cutting with little effort

Thought really hard before spending this much on a pair of loppers, however I already use Felco secateurs so I know they make a good product.These are really well made with an excellent sharp blade and not too heavy, they have already had plenty of use. One of the other good things about Felco is that you can always obtain spare parts, making them a worthwhile investment especially for anyone with a lot of overgrown garden to deal with like I have!

These work extremely well. Great engineering. Cut without any problems. The loppers warrant five stars but I have given them four star because they do not include an adjustment key, every Felco I have bought previously came with one. Amazon can't supply these at present and you will need one, I have a couple so to me it is not an issue.
