Does not fit 2004 GTI
It's advertised to fit 717 engines but it does not fit on mine. This particular starter has smooth bore holes and the starter on my machine has threaded holes. They're also clocked different

Waste of money
The starter wasn’t built correctly it keeps giving me power to my negative terminal I had to use a old starter off a old ski

Starter didn’t work
Spent a whole bunch of time installing this starter to find it wouldn’t even work. Now I cant return it.
