Very useful tool for certain applications
Tool is nicely compact and lightweight, as well as reasonably priced for what it is. Time will tell about long term durability. Unlike many very compact tools of similar class, this one has its motor part designed to be a lot more narrow, though somewhat longer. This can be very helpful in certain situations (but not in others). It is also surprisingly powerful. With the right adapter and a deep socket, it does remove even some fairly tight wheel bolts (up to 120 ft*lb tightening torque). That type of work is probably something it should not do on a regular basis, but for very occasional use it is very capable, though it's quite obvious the process then is quite noisy. Light on the front of the tool is bright and effective, and the trigger is easy to modulate.

Love this Makita Impact Driver
Lightweight and fits my hand. Powerful and I like the auto setting where it starts out slower, then picks up speed and power.Batter life is a function of the battery you have. One can always purchase a beefier battery.

I run screws at a R.V production plant for a living and this gun made my life easier
So I've owned every brand and they all work ok usually came down to the battery when making my new gun purchase. Previously using a similar blue 18v Makita and already having a battery and charger I decided to try out the "black" Makita. Was disappointed at first that it didn't have the r.p.m my old gun had. What it does have is quality fricken bearings! There is literally ZERO play and wobble at your bit and after over a month driving easily 1k screws a day in the metal department at work there is still ZERO wobble or play at the bit and that makes all the difference. Also lightweight enough it dosent pull my tool belt down along with my shorts when working lol which is nice. Quality gun for sure ๐
