keeps odors out
This gas mask filter fit my gas mask which I use to keep out the smell of paint when I'm in a small area. If you need an extra filter i recommend this one.

This fit my mask just fine
I am happy to report that this refill respirator cartridge fit my mask I have very well.We got a mask to two for emergencies intitially but now I am working in the garage with wood and chemicals to make furniture - this is a good thing to make money - not so good for the lungs.I am using the mask regularly now and needed a replacement. These work great with my existing mask - and I guess the connection is standard fit?Very good replacement -Recommended

Good basic filter
This 40mm filter fits all masks that accept a 40mm filter. It came shrink wrapped and boxed. My filter is marked with a May 2022 production date and says the expiration date is 5 years. It's made of plastic instead of metal, but that doesn't bother me. It's not cheap/thin plastic. If I slam my face into anything hard enough to damage this filter, I think I'm going to have bigger problems.I haven't disassembled it but if you shake it you can hear the loose activated charcoal inside. These are sold for organic vapor use, not NBC use. Although I would certainly use this for NBC if I had nothing else available. When using with organic vapors, expect this filter to reduce but not remove the vapors completely. It's an entry level filter, not a high end air purification device. I think it works fine with the proper expectations.

Won't know until I use them
I bought these as back-up canisters for the "gas masks" I bought. My wife is a bit of a pepper, but we live on Hawaii Island, so volcanoes are possible. We hope to never use these, but if we do, then I will know if they really work. They seems well made and have a good "shelf" life.

Cracked, not sealed.
Filter came with some kind of manufacture defect where the two halves come together allowing for outside air to bypass most of the filter, tested with gasoline vapor, ineffective, spray paint vapor, also ineffective, the only thing i would trust this for is a prop to fit old Russian masks.

Seems to work well
I got this to have in situations where I work with really stinky paint fumes. I have only used it once so far, but it seemed to do well with blocking out any paint fumes, so I am inclined to say it works well.

Not certifed, no way to know if it actually works well
Ignore all the 5 star reviews. Not a single one of them (that I've read so far) is by anyone who has any objective way to test if this cartridge works properly. They can only talk about how nice and sturdy it looks - and I agree that it looks fine on the outside. But I don't know whether it works or not either, because there aren't home tests for reliable and objectively evaluating the performance of organic vapor respirator cartridges.I own a bunch lab grade mask fit testing machines and particle counters, and they can't evaluate the performance of this cartridge either, my equipment can only test for particulate filter penetration. Organic vapor penetration testing just not something you do at home - which is what NIOSH and other government organizations around the world are for, to test and *certify* that a cartridge will protect you from the chemicals it is supposed to. I had hoped there would be instructions and information about the certification of this cartridge in the package - there was not.Safety equipment is sold based on *trust* - with lots of gear, from UV protecting goggles, to fall arrest harnesses, to respirator filters, you have to trust that they do what they say they will. Which is why there are standards and certifying organizations. And why you buy from reputable brands with experience making products to those standards. I don't have any reason to risk my life on the assumption that "Dodarhip" has made this cartridge to the highest standards - it might be, but I have no way to know for sure. It could be the best organic vapor cartridge on the planet, or the worst, or somewhere in the middle. I've given the this 3 stars, because I have no idea if it is any good and no way to tell one way or another, and neither does anyone else reviewing it. So if you want to protect yourself from dangerous chemicals, I'd suggest getting a NIOSH approved respirator and cartridges. You can use this if you want. It could be great. But if it isn't, you won't know it until it is too late.

Filter compatible with FP-5 standard (NATO standard thread)
Ordered this filter to add to my bail out pack. As a prepper, its good to be ready for the next emergency or catastrophe. The filter was made last year (China) and has a five year expiry, but consider that it should be vacuum packed to reach this lifespan.I tried it in my Polish MP5 Gas Mask and a Russian Civilian GP-5 Gas Mask and it threaded fine on both, with a good seal. These filters should be OK for prevention of Organic Vapor, Paint, Spray, Dust, Epoxy Resin, Welding and other light chemical intoxication. They are not intended against radioactive and biological warfare agents.Hope this review is helpful.
