Other reviews made this sound like an 'iffy' product. I found it a fantastic bargain. Not only does it emit a lot of IR light and improve the night-vision of my camera, but comes on automatically at night, off at daytime. A minor criticism (for my use) is the coverage angle is not as wide as I would like, but it does throw the beam quite a distance.As noted by other reviewers, it DID come in an incorrectly identified box. But I suspect operator error for the other complaints. For one thing, you need to make a wired connection to your own 12VDC power supply. Second, the unit emits IR light (duh), which is not visible to the human eye, so it does not look like it ever comes on.

It arrived in the wrong box (HD camera box) as someone else had posted--maybe put a label over it, I'm fine using the right sized box from a different product. I could see Amazon getting returns without the person opening the box.That aside, it's exactly as bright as I anticipated. I'm using it to illuminate a "pupcam" I made with a raspberry pi zero and a pi camera without the IR filter. Molly likes to sleep on the couch in the "plant room." I initially pointed it at her couch, but it's much better to bounce off the ceiling. Illuminates that half of the room nicely.Materials feel solid, LED's look good--very satisfied. If that changes, I'll update this review.

Hypothetically, if your neighbor across the street we're spying on you you could get a couple of these Jokers and aim them directly at their house/cams and it would shine brightly in their cameras without disturbing anyone else... Hypothetically 😉

This little guy puts out a great amount of light. I have other IR lamps that are twice the size and this one blows them away.

My security camera that faces the street doesn’t illuminate far enough down the driveway. This IR floodlight puts out so much light it lights up not only my driveway but the street and across the street as well. I’m happy

purchase this three month ago, busy at life, no time to test it, until the day I remember test it & install it, well well well, you know what, it is not working, I can't believe a simply IR light could be not working........... wtf........ok. ..learn a big lesson ...suck it up. fxxx

Puts a lot of light out

Simple but good quality. This IR "light" source meets all the specifications listed in the description. In addition, it might be helpful to know the emission wavelength is 850nm (barely visible deep red), which gives a brighter illumination with most CCD cameras (without the standard IR filter) than 940nm. As also stated, no 12V power source is included. However, the camera is equipped with a common 5.5x2.1mm female power connector (+ on the pin) that fits most of these simple 12VDC 1A switching power supplies. Even rookies should be able to get this thing to work.
