This is absolutely a great tool to have if you need to spread peat moss. It makes the process a lot more precise. It’s not easier than simply flinging peat moss around from a shovel, however it lays down the right amount and keeps it consistent. Additionally, it keeps any bigger pieces/twigs from getting on your grass that might be in the bag.I have not used this for top soil or compost yet but the fact that twigs and other un-composted parts you typically find in top soil and compost gets “trapped” in the mesh makes this worth every dollar.The quality seems good so far. I like the fact that the latches are on the side and not on the center as well.

I bought this primarily to spread topsoil before doing some overseeding. With a half acre to prepare, I knew that raking would be inconsistent and back breaking. I had seen a similar product on Youtube and was happy to find this at a great price. I noticed that a lot of other similar products were more expensive but I can't imagine that they do the job any better than this one from Vevor. Some quick points to make:-It was easy to put together (less than 10 minutes)-It seems quite sturdy, with no dents or blemishes after a month of heavy use-The handle can be adjusted for shorter and taller users-It actually looks nice with the orange and black aestheticOverall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I kind of wish they offered several options with smaller holes, since the top soil comes out fast. That being said, it still produces a clean even dispersement of the soil (as shown in my picture).

Worked well for putting down peat moss. Gate could have worked a little better as had to jimmy it a bit to get the gate to latch most of the time.

In wanting an easier solution to top dressing with compost on my lawn, I shopped around the cheaper spreaders that are starting to come out. I didn't need one of the big names as my front and backyard are only 2400sqft combined and I knew I'd only be doing it once or twice a year. This seemed to fit the bill. It did not arrive damaged, it was in perfect condition. I did about 600sqft after overseeding, using 8cuft of composted manure from the big box store. Worked great. It did capture all the big stuff, but I did have more sticks than I expected - an issue that probably wouldn't dissappear with another brand. It's about the size of the holes and I think that's standard. The roller held 2cuft easily and made such quick work of the topdressing compared to sifting and spreading it manually. Exactly what I needed. The latches on the side are great, they don't get in the way and don't get caught on anything. Look forward to continuing to using this every season to amend my soil and keep my turf grass looking great.

I am in the middle of lawn renovation approximately 6,000 SQFT and I need to spread around a few yards of seed and sod mix and I was going to do this by hand with a shovel and rake till I watched some Youtube videos and found this nifty gizmo. I was hesitant that it would work as good as the videos and save me time. Boy was I impressed with this simple device. In less than an 1.5 hours I was able to spread out about 1 yard of material in a nice thin layer across my lawn for reseeding. This is a great tool. Solid metal and very durable. Thanks Vevor for another amazing product and a fantastic price.

Good quality. I enjoy the side latches. I used 13 bales of peat moss on my lawn and the Vevor did the job very well. I also used it to spread dirt, which it also worked really well at doing. Overall, it was worth the purchase price and I'm sure I will find other uses for it beyond peat moss. A solution to turn it into a yard roller would be great (large bag of water inside or something like that might work).Only downside, when opening the door to load material, the opening part doesn't always want to stay "on top" and can roll and make it challenging to load.

If you are looking for something that is efficient and works as advertised than this may be the product for you. I was on the fence about purchasing this product, last thing I needed was something to take up more garage space. But on the other hand the old wheel barrel & shovel was just not working. It's very simple to use and for something that will only be used a few times a year it should be around for a very long time. It's always good to have the right tool for the job. You may not use it everyday but it's nice to have it around when you need it.

Wow this was a lot of work to use. I was hoping to cut the time and physical labor of spreading top soil over our lawn, but instead I found myself sorting pebbles and rocks out of the topsoil and mashing up larger bits of topsoil into tiny pieces. This would work well with potting soil, or a flawless compost with little sticks or debris. Otherwise, the debris blocks the smaller particles from exiting. Easy assembly, and fairly sturdy.
