Source of product in question?
The image of the package states the groats are a product of canada, but the package I got today says China! Rather deceptive marketing too say the least.

Dont remember it having a tag in the listing saying it was a product of China, many reviews on Amazon and other sites say many toxins and unclean handling resulted in people getting sick.I wont buy this again,im throwing it away since i prob cant return, this was a waste of money and afraid to consume this bag of groats.

Perfect buckwheat groats!
This huge bag of buckwheat groats will last me a few months, and I use them for a LOT of dishes. I have pretty much replaced rice with this product. It has a wonderful nutty/earthy flavor and is PERFECT when cooked in some chicken broth as the stuffing in stuffed mushroom caps or bell peppers with some basil and garlic. Be sure you rinse them well in hot water before using: they are from China so could be contaminated with any number of toxic/infectious things. I wish we grew buckwheat here in America, but alas, we do not grow it in enough quantity to make it affordable so I must buy from China. It's fine, just rinse them well!

Excellent product - Makes the best pancakes I've ever had
I've ordered this twice and am about to order 3 more 5lb bags. I grind the groats into buckwheat flour and mostly make pancakes and waffles out of the flour. The quality and taste is excellent. The packaging on all the bags I've ordered so far has been good - sealed up well and the bag is heavy duty.Buckwheat pancakes have becomes my kids favorite pancakes! Never a complaint and the kids always get excited when they know I am making buckwheat pancakes for breakfast.A great product. Thank you!!

Delicious and filling!
I ordered my first five-pound bag of these based on what other people were saying about Buckwheat Groats. I have now ordered several more five-pound bags and try to always keep some in the house. They pick up the flavor of whatever you might want to add and they are really filling. I cook up one cup at a time and get three breakfasts out of it! I add some dried cranberries, shelled walnuts, a small amount of milk, and one packet of artificial sweetener. Now, I hardly eat anything else for breakfast.

I work often as a medical personal chef which means I get hired to cook beautiful meals with clean ingredients that can help people let their bodies heal. This is a great product, I only marked down on the packaging becuase I believe we all need to be asking for 100% compostable packaging NOW! Thanks for making a great product, I'm a customer for life!

Chinese buckwheat!
I should have paid attention to the picture! I regret buying buckwheat from China, since it's a crop that grows so well here in Canada, without pesticides. Furthermore, I hardly trust chinese products stating they're organic...

These are clean, dry, and fresh tasting like they should be
Nice large bag of Buck Wheat Groats. They seem to be well cleaned as we found nothing other than Buck Wheat Groats in the bag. There was no dust or chaff either. When we tasted them they were fresh, not a hint of staleness. They do indeed have a nice, to us, nutty earthy taste which lends itself well to everything we use them in.Since we use these in bread, soups, and our morning breakfasts we tend to go through them fairly fast and up till this point we have been buying smaller bags which when we saw this and compared price to volume, this became a cheaper way to buy. For storage, large mason jars ensure that they will stay fresh. We’ve often found that leaving grains in plastic results in them getting moist. Most plastic is made to hold out (or in) water but not moisture in the air and as such we just don’t take chances with food stuffs any longer. Besides, even PBA free plastics still give off chemical gases over time, something we don’t need or want in our food.

Fresh and tasty
It tastes good and seems to be from fresh crop as groats are still bright and greenish. Keep in mind these are dried raw buckwheat groats not Kasha which is roasted. For better, nutty flavour we recommend roasting raw groats on pan or in the oven until gold and then cook.Recomended.
