I replaced the tilt mechanism on a 20 y/o Bassett, high-backed, fabric, office chair. Worked great. Better than new. It's a very stout mechanism. 10/10

My relatively new swivel chair started to tilt quite badly to the right. I paid a few hundred pounds for it and the top is still like new so I was really disappointed. However seeing this replacement part I decided to try fixing it. As you can see the weld on the original part had broken half way round so I suspect this was causing the lean. The hardest part of switching the base attachments was getting the gas lift cylinder out of the old. i ended up using a pipe wrench and a hammer! All is fixed now and the chair feels sturdier than it ever has before. Hopefully this will last many years!

This mechanism is by far the best I have found yet. You can feel the stability and strength when sitting on the chair after installing this. At 235lbs I have been through a few, this one does not even wiggle and feels like it will last. The material is much thicker and heavier, just like it says in the listing.

This tilt mechanism replaced a broken one on a Sam Moore custom made desk chair that was originally purchased in 2001. Easy to install; works great; chair is like new.
