Must have
Such a good book for someone who is either learning about ADHD or wanting to diagnose themself before seeking professional help. This book goes into detail without boring you. I read it all in one sitting. This was better than just looking through the internet because it provides real life scenarios that you’d never connect with ADHD. I share this book with friends all the time. 10/10!

Alice, you rocked it!
As a 71-year-old librarian who has suffered from this since forever and always thought I was just that kid who couldn’t sit still until ADHD was finally announced to the world by a psychologists. Reading through the symptoms I knew exactly I was their poster human! This is an absolutely perfect introduction, and I will be handing it off to all my patrons, kids and adults alike, thank you.

Designed for beginners, not people who already understand their relationship to ADHD
This one is a little tricky for me to rate, because it was not a good fit for me... but only because it seems to be aimed at people who have less experience understanding and managing their ADHD. I think I would have found this helpful if I'd stumbled upon it a couple of years ago. So I'm giving it three stars, because I would have been disappointed if I bought it now, but I think it could be really helpful to the right readership. The author was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, but I think this book would also be useful for kids (and parents of kids) who have been diagnosed at an earlier age. The author talks about emotions associated with diagnosis, ways in which ADHD manifests (which I certainly found relatable!) and, perhaps most usefully, some of her life hacks for organizing things to make management easier. That last part seems like the most valuable part of the book, since I would expect that many people who have known to seek a diagnosis are already aware of their behaviors. That said, for people who are wondering if they have ADHD and/or don't have access to a therapist, etc., or can't afford pursuing a diagnosis, this would be a good starting point for understanding and management.Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book as an ARC. I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
