great book, check it out!
Stone of Radnor gets a strong recommendation from me.There's a lot of things this book does differently to other fantasy novels. It's a classic hero's journey but with some unexpected twists. The action is tense and brutal. The world is grim but there are satisfying moments of humanity throughout.Definitely looking forward to the next one, Paul. Great work!

Fast paced adventure of 14 year old Jaydon and Stone of Radnor
I enjoyed the main characters and there had clearly been a good bit of research done into medieval warfare, weaponry and glimpses into mystical worlds of gods, magic and runes...I look forward to reading the sequel which Book One has been well set up for. There is a good sense of place and time, descriptions are moving and typical of violence and dirt, etc of this period. Some characters could have been further rounded out though I did enjoy the main protagonist, Jaydon's character. I also loved Nyla! Why did she kill him? Was it the stones? Her own greed? Or revenge for abuses of power? I'd love more on her backstory please...? (Longer book next time?!)I would love to know more about Elokar and where his evil originated... who are the gods? Why are the stones linked? All very fascinating. I particularly liked the use of the ancient Calarian language. This added authenticity.Fun read.

enjoyable , entertaining can only get better
I love good characterisation and as a first book PS is going in the right direction. I hope he fleshes out the characters to a greater degree in the forthcoming books and can give greater depth to personality, motivations and not just simple lust for power and good v evil.People are complex as we know and we all have the capacity for light or darkness and it is in the understanding of what shapes us that can make for great reading.

Loved this book!
I love finding books that you just can't put down, have read this in two days! From the start the writer pulls you in with his great storytelling and the perilous journey the main character Jaydon embarks on after the exciting first chapter. (I won't put any spoilers in here.) This is aimed at teens/young adults and I think has the potential to get reluctant readers back into reading like Harry Potter did for so many. The fighting scenes are so well written I could really imagine then as I was reading them. Excited to read the next in the series when its out.

Gripping from start to finish!
With a brilliantly written scene setting that is brutal, yet compelling, you’re immediately sucked into this journey. I can honestly say for me that the story builds throughout and I was disappointed when I realised that I had already reached the end. I will definitely be buying the next in the series as soon as it is released!

Thoroughly enjoyable
When I found out that the author supported Burnley, I was a bit dubious that the story would be any good, but was pleasantly mistaken. Although it's the standard hero takes a journey, the characters and storyline do pull you in and I'm looking forward to part 2.

A great adventure book
Fantastic for a debut book, I look forward to see where the adventures go next. This wouldn't normally be my chosen genre, however the descriptive writing gave fantastic visuals that captured my imagination- I would love to watch the movie!!

A rip roaring adventure
I was pulled along easily as I shared the adventures of young Jaydon and his companions. There were twists and turns aplenty, and though I thought I knew where the story was headed, there were many surprises. The action was well written and the budding camaraderie well fulfilled. There were tears at the end, but mostly a need to know…what next?
