It's great for the price. Until it BRICKED!
Most of my previous MP3 players have been Cowans. I've had several and they all died tragic deaths. The sound quality and processing of the Cowans is legendary and the user interface infamous. I've recently bought two SanDisk brand players. I've used their cards for years in cameras as they're the best out there, but that MP3 player sucked! First was a brick out of the box. Second lasted one year and one month before bricking. Even when it worked, the battery life was barely enough for a workday. This unit is hundreds of dollars less than what I spent on a Cowan. The battery life is GREAT (so far). UI is intuitive and easy. Easy to upload--drag and drop--as it should be. Biggest plus--the controls are easy to lock--something SanDisk left off theirs. Sound quality is plenty good enough for my 60+ ears using some cheap- Panasonic earbuds.I like it. I'd buy one again, and probably will when I kill this one.Update:I bought this back in April. It's now September. Yesterday, about halfway through the day, it turned into a brick. Won't take a charge, won't respond. I did order another one, as these are cheap, but I'm afraid that these are... cheap.

Pretty good for the price
This device is actually pretty great. First off, the body is metal, has a nice weight to it and is pretty durable. I dropped it on metal and it didn't dent like i thought it would, the paint did chip though. The buttons do feel cheap. I feel like that could be improved but they work just fine. The interface is serviceable, everything does what it should do. I do wish that the "M" button, which I assume is the Menu button, would actually take you to the main menu, it doesn't, it just takes you back a screen which the return arrow button already does. The sound quality is good. The battery seems to last forever, I haven't measured yet but I've gone a couple days without charging and the battery going down only one bar. I use it for work and it's on for about 5-6 hours straight.Pretty good for the price so far and I hope did doesn't die on me anytime soon.

Was ALMOST perfect.... But then...
Okay. I am very particular about my MP3 players. They need to be tactile with pushable buttons - none of that touchscreen nonsense which makes fumbling about with it in the dark an awful experience. They need to have physical volume buttons - no holding down the up button to bring up the menu. They need to have high capacity. This MP3 player hit ALL the marks!I received it, and it was great. Just what I wanted! But just recently, I wanted to add new songs, but when trying to add music to it, the memory corrupted and the device's memory file on my computer just crashes and disconnects whenever I try to drag my files into it's storage. This is so stupid. There is no reason why this should be happening. I'm delicate with the things I love, and as previously stated, this was the perfect device for me. Well, perfect until it stopped being functional. I'm stuck with the few albums I put on it forever since I can't add anything new anymore! The device itsself is just fine. No display issues, no audio issues, no sticking buttons... But my GOD I would just like to add new music. What's the use in all that space if I can't even utilize it??? I can't return it or get a refund or ANYTHING because I JUST found this out. I hadn't needed to add anthing new to it until now.TLDR; It's broken. In a bad way. I want my money back.

Overall:Good
It works fine for what I need it for….walking and pausing occasionally. The tactile buttons are nice for that. Two downsides with the display. First, it scratches too easily. Second, the maximum brightness level is not enough to see the small fonts on the screen

GREAT LITTLE MP3 PLAYER
About 1/3 bigger and louder than my last player. Buttons are click instead of touch, so when I lay it on its face it does not do weird things. Battery is down one bar after about 5 hours using the internal speaker, way longer than my 5 year old player. There is really no bass to speak of so when I play it at night I do not bother my family. Was not expensive, paired right away with my speaker, it has a D pad set up that, unlike some players, up always means up, ect. The internal memory is friggin big, but since I just switched my memory card over and rocked on I have not been there yet. The only thing I would change is a little more screen contrast and or larger font would be cool for my imperfect vision.

Well I thought it was good
I guess you shouldn’t leave reviews until you had stuff for at least a month. The Bluetooth on this stopped working only 2 weeks after I had it. While it did link when I got it it started periodically loosing connection until finally it didn’t work at all. I can use plug ins with it and it plays fine, that is not what I bought. I bought Bluetooth and that no longer works. Not a good buy for me.

DON'T BUY! Doesn't last long at all!
Nice form factor and it has its own speaker. However, the first one I bought had the on / off switch die about 10 months after purchase. I thought it was nice enough for my purposes, so I bought another one. This one only lasted about 4 months and the phone jack is messed up. It will only work on one side, unless I hold it just right with my hand. Big NG! I'll look for a better unit.
