Why does the mini rice cooker have an odor when first used?

It is common for new rice cookers to have a slight odor when first used, as the plastic parts/electrical insulation may emit an odor when heated for the first time. Boil water a few times before using it with food. The odor should fade quickly.

What is the optimal keep-warm duration for this rice cooker?

The ideal keep-warm period is generally between 1 to 2 hours, during which the food remains at its best temperature and texture. However, keeping the food warm for extended periods can lead to over-drying and hardening.
