Works exactly as intended, seller is fantastic!
I loved the device when I first bought it, and used it for over a year before I ended up moving, and it stayed in a box for a while before I could use it again. At some point during the move, it stopped working (no power to unit). I assumed it was because of the move and being locked in a box, as I had no issues with it before. When i found out it wouldn’t receive power, I emailed the seller and they were very understanding, and ended up replacing it for me at no cost! It’s not often you have such a great buying experience online. As for the quality of the device, it is everything you could expect based on its description, I have literally no issues with the product at all. It allows me to have extra HDMI slots for my TV, and every one of them connects to my digital surround sound through it, whereas before I could only have one device on surround because only that one device had a digital audio output. The remote is a nice addition, and it automatically switches input when a new device powers on, something many TVs dont even do. Great, simple, effective product

Great product... once you get it set up.
I bought this switch in order to intercept audio from my HDMI devices and send them to my amp via TOSLINK/SPDIF, instead of having the audio go to the TV (which was causing issues with Dolby+) and then back down via HDMI ARC. This switch does exactly that by repeating the audio track via either SPDIF/TOSLINK or RCA Mono, from its connected HDMI sources. It also pulls the ARC audio off of the output line and sends it to SPDIF.PROS:- Extracts audio from connected HDMI and sends it via TOSLINK/RCA Mono/ARC to an audio receiver- You can use both the SPDIF and RCA Mono outputs at the same time. (I have the SPDIF to my audio receiver and the RCA to a bluetooth transmitter for headphones)- Auto-Switch functioning works great- NO AUDIO DELAY!CONS:- From my experience, the RCA MONO audio is fixed, but the volume fluctuates a decent amount- You cannot send the ARC Return from your TV to the RCA Mono- Support appears to be unresponsive, both emails sent to the address on the box received no response. (Luckily, Google had some suggestions based on similar devices)- Does not correctly pass through some CEC commands, such as volume control and input selection.TIP:If you're like me and couldn't get your TV (Vizio) to recognise the ARC/CEC and thus have no audio from TV ARC to the SPDIF, try disconnecting all devices except your TV and Audio Amp/ Receiver then re-run ARC/CEC discovery. (Then reconnect other devices).

Worked perfectly for adding Sonos to FireTV
I was looking for something that allowed me to use my new Sonos speakers with my movies. I use a ceiling mounted projector connected to a FireTV and PS4, no cable box or over air TV at all. After purchasing a Sonos Beam bundle, the only way to connect there is with HDMI which was challenging because my projector needed the HDMI output from both the FireTv and the PS4. Luckily, the Sonos Beam came with a handy Optical cable to HDMI adaptor (since it's audio only) so I just had to figure out how to take both sources and split them to the projector for video, and Sonos Beam for audio. This unit was perfect! You need HDMI ARC output and also something that splits the video/audio from HDMI into video for HDMI output and audio for Optical cable. It took me some trail and error to get the settings correct and I also had to disable a setting on my router, while also changing a setting on the Fire TV, but all works perfectly now!I can listen to the Sonos home theatre bundle for both movies and games and switch to music easily using the voice enabled Alexa support on the Beam.I had tried just a regular HDMI splitter 1 into 2, but that did not work, this was less costly and worked like a charm.Since it's set to auto, I don't even have to use the remote at all. When I turn on the PS4, it automatically switches sources for video to the projector and the audio still feeds through the optical out. It's been installed for 2 days, so no feedback on reliability yet...

Good while it lasts
This worked OK until it started adding noise to UHD 4k after about 1yr. This would show up as "snow" in black parts of the picture and get worse until power cycled. For awhile the problem would go away with a power cycle but then it started losing audio/video sync on 4k/60 with 7.1 sound - the more channels the worse it would be. I bought this primarily for the UHD switch function and really did not need the audio extractions feature. Remote operation is pretty dodgy unless very close line of sight. As this cost over $50 I'm pretty disappointed with it.Update:I must say that I am very impressed with Awakelion/FiveHome support for this product! I did not contact them - they reached out to me after apparently reading this review. After dealing with a few tech support questions they sent me a new unit - FREE - even past the warranty! That is customer support!

Making the Sonos playbar work with its new home
Fairly easy to use, needed to extract the audio channels from an HDMI in order for my Sonos playbar to work with my system. Little fiddling around with the options on the remote but got it. So far working perfectly! No sound loss or anything!

It works. Allows hdcp pass through.
Used it to connect a sky q uhd box to an Optoma UHD65 projector. Works well. Split off sound to an av receiver which blocks hdcp. Writing on the front of the box is difficult to read, but is all correct. Instructions need careful study to understand but are all correct. Does exactly what I required.
