nice rod
this is a well made rod however the tip roller is not position correctly meaning high test line like 100LB or higher touches the rod just before the guide. this will cause breakage of line. I will have to cut out the tip guide and make adjustments which will cost me extra money. still for the price of this rod I expected much worse but as I said the rod overall is good except for the tip.

Avoid This Rod
I hate having to leave a bad review, but... halibut season has opened and I finally got a chance to use this new rod. After a few days of no fish, I finally hooked one... and new 80 lb. braided line broke. That only happens if the line has been damaged. A close look at the new rod and I found the issue. The roller on the rod tip is too small, allowing the line to rub on the rod, as shown in the photos. Rod is useless to me, already cost me $400 worth of fresh halibut filets. My advice, avoid this rod, it will cause you to lose fish due to line damage.
