Charles Aznavour - The Absolutely Essential 3

Whilst I think this cd set's title is a little misleading in that very few of the numbers in this fine 60 track collection will be known to most English speaking music collectors, it is nevertheless a remarkable collection for serious Aznavour enthusiasts. I'm perhaps a bit biased as I can speak reasonably good French but Aznavour's vocals on this collection are wonderful. I think most are from the 50's and 60's and he's in tremendous vocal form. The backings are superb too. There's even a few jazzy tracks. Charles' uvular trill is truly delightful a bit like Piaf when she sang the wonderful "Non je ne regrette rien".

Very relaxing and atmospheric music. Well recorded and rendered to CD, even though it's mono. That just adds to the nostalgia. I listen to it a lot and it never gets boring. Great stuff.

Didn’t realise it would be all in French. Wanted an English copy

I have received this item but am not sure the tracks ( She and Dance in the old fashioned way) are included as my French is not up to scratch. If they are included ignore this , other wise I would like to return the CD's for exchange . Please advise, Stanley (Doh) Murphy

I ought to have guessed there is a snag at the price. Nothing wrong with it except it is all in French. At least it is authentic.

Glad that I got to own a copy of these Cd's as they contains some of his more un usual creations.Very prompt delivery after order placed. Yhanks.

what you would expect but did not have "she"

Very good but I preferred the 90th Anniversary set.
