Fine, but didn't clip over my deep shelf
As I mentioned in the headline. This would have been exactly what I wanted, except the shelf I tried to clip it over was too deep for the clamp. So I returned it... In fact, I don't think I'll find one so I'll probably have to look at a different solution.

basic clip lamps but does not cover the bulb and poor qa on bayonet sockets
clip lamp x2=========Cheap and cheerful clip lamps. You get a generous length of power cable and a uk 3 pin plug. The only slight let down is the clip lamps are not pictured with a bulb in the listing - I only realised after getting them that the socket you put your bulb into is just that - in the listing pictures it looks like it might cover more of the bulb but it doesn't. Another niggle is the QA on the bayonet fittings. In both it's cut a bit too big, one more than the other, so in one of the clips the bulbs wiggle a little, on another they wiggle a lot. Currently selling for 12.49
