Good product
I used this to make gesso for canvases as I am an artist. I find it easy to mix and is great value for money rather than buying gesso which can be very expensive. Also a bit of an experiment, which I am also enjoying. If the Old Masters did it I can too.

Great for gardening
I bought this for gardening.Just in case anyone is wondering how much yo use...it does depend in n your current soil pH and that needed by your plants, but not more than a handful per plant roughly, do this packet will easily do 10 young plants. It is a small packet, but it goes a long way.It is very useful for increasing the pH of soil, that is to make it more alkaline. My soil pH in the area for planting was 6 and the new plants needed 8-9.Amazon asked about the " Flavour", and whilst this is also used to mix in with animal feed, I. Am Not using it for that purpose, and even if I was thinking doubt my horses would want to leave a review on Amazon regarding the flavour? Odd.

A little goes a long way.
This was extremely handy to add to every day paint to make a chalk paint for my mirrors on a budget. A little goes along way. As for pets and food I can't comment.

G alternative plaster of paris for furniture renovation
I mixed this powder with emulsion paint. Pleased with colour and Finish to an old folding chair. Tho did find it created a bit more dust when sanding down that when I used plaster of paris to repaint furniture. finished with wax cream polish.
