Brand recommendation
This was a gift to a friend whom is a former mechanic because of pain issues. But now performs it part time on the side when able. He loves the options for the price point. In general Scotty Kilmer recommends this brand. And I agree. A lot of options that perform well at a moderate price point compared to the 5k$ model Scotty has. Thanks!

Prompt deliverey and great value with the included extended update offer from the seller
I have a number of different vehicles varying from older 2005 era and including newer 2022 models. My nephew and I help family members with minor repairs and the newer models including mini and BWM have complicated electronics. It is useful to be able to diagnose accurately so when the issue is out side of our ballywick to tackle we are confident the dealerships are able to only fix the the proper things instead of easter egg replacements. So far I have used it to fix 5 different vehicles and am confident that it will continue to pay for itself over the next year. Even my local mechanic is impressed by the features it has. I would recommend you study the features understand how to use it so you don't get frustrated at first. The software updates fall into several categories so be patient and do them in the correctg order. The Tablet apps and OS first then the actual Autel application updates. Don't give up it takes time to do them all and requires a good internet connection.

Great Scan tool.
I love the hard protective case, easy to use latches, and the securement method is quick to get the tool out, and fast to put it away. The scan tool has a veriety of functions, and does a pretty good job of scanning the system. Still more stuff to look at in the tablet, but I’m impressed so far!

Amazing For The Price!
I use this scan tool in a professional shop and absolutely love it! It's a great addition to my toolbox for the vehicles that my Ford factory scan tools won't read. It's quick and easy to use, and the bi-directional controls are awesome, especially when combined with the freedom of having a Bluetooth connection rather than a hard wire. I've used the tool on multiple brands of vehicles from the late 90s to 2023 and it never fails to do what I need. The borescope is great too. I've used it multiple times to look into combustion chambers, get a view of a hidden fastener, etc. if you're looking for an extremely capable scan tool that doesn't cost thousands of dollars, this is the one!

So close, so so close!
I own a Honda Element, Scion Xa, and a Acty. . . look it up. I have worked on every make of cars/trucks for 60+ years, I am an expert on Carburetors, because I grew up with them. And now, my son is a Automotive Tech, so smart. I admit, I am a bit behind, with new cars, just a bit. Advanced Diagnostic Techniques have always been my thing, but cars are getting smarter then me. I can't go to my son (we live several states apart) Eveytime I need to understand something better on a newer car. (2009-2024) So I bought myself a new tool. befor I bought one, I studied the specs , downloaded the manuals, emailed support, ask questions in forums. Autel, Foxwell, Launch, Actron, Innova, xTool, and more . . up to $1,300 I need it to do ABS bleeds, SRS resets . . actually the list is growing every day. This is so much fun. I've been watching, Eric O. SMA YT, check him out, many of his watchers are old mechanics like me. I bought several scanner, to test and see for myself, menus and fuctions, different makes, models, and I sent them all back, because they didn't do what I thought they would do or didn't do it well, or the menu sucked. (amazon is getting mad at me, they sent me a warning email ) with one exception, the Foxwell NT809TS, did my ABS Bleed, but I felt all else about it just wasn't good enought. ( this review isn't for the foxwell so I'm not going to get into that) I finally settled on this one, Autel MaxiCOM MK808Z-TS, close enought, it doesn't do the bleed on my 06 Element, but it covers everything else, so well. Menu is laid out better then the others, you find what your looking for, where you thing it should be. This is built on andriod 11 platform, and you can use it as a Tablet. I will get Google play on it, some how. . I'm working on it, side loaded. it has Chrome and ES file, apkpure came next, then installed NOVA, if you don't know about nova launcher, you are missing out. For now amazon store is installed, and working, I got google drive with it. I put a 1tb SD card in it. Amazing, (I know). As for showing you the scanner in action, sorry . . I would have to make a video while in my car using it. I'm not that good. I'll try and update this later.

I'm not a full time Tech but this is a no brainer.
I have used the scanner a few times already and I couldn't be happier with its performance and I don't have any regrets about it. Being a freelance family Tech having the right tools for the job is necessary to a successful repair.

Works for Me
I'm an diy auto repair guy. The Autel MX808Z-BT has worked great for what I asked it to do so far. An ECU had to be replaced in one of my Nissans. This wouldn't set a VIN but it does program keys. It scans all modules for codes very nicely. Nissan dealer wanted to charge me $350 for the throttle body volume/idle relearn procedure. Then to program keys the local locksmith wanted $45. So just on those two charges I've nearly recovered the cost of my Autel.
