It’s really useful being on the stand, as the fan can be tilted at a convenient angle to be closer to your work and is slight raised from the bench. The on off switch is positioned on the top of the fan so it is convenient to access while working.The stand needs to be fitted to the fan after delivery. You need to be quite strong to stretch it to go over the screw fitting, but other than that it’s simple to attach.The filter simply attaches in front of the fan. One is already in place, and it comes with a spare.

Great value for money. Not sure how effectively the carbon filter actually neutralises the flux fumes, but the air flow is strong enough to suck up the fumes and at least blow them around the room, rather than the fumes rising straight up into my face. Does the job effectively

Needs to be placed close to work piece to work well. If that is so then is adequate to take away the fumes.

I bought this to use whilst soldering stained glass panels. It is easy to set up and easy to adjust whilst using. It doesn't take up too much space on my worktop and is a must have if you are creating potentially toxic fumes. (You should always have adequate ventilation or a good size workspace when soldering in addition to using these fume extractor filters)I would recommend this unit to others but make sure that it is appropriate for what you are doing.

The unit fits well in my work flow. I have mostly used it for surface mount work where it can be placed close to the work. It sucks the smoke away nicely. Sturdily built, stays put reasonably well, and it is not excessively loud. Highly recommended.

I bought the smoke absorber to absorb marijuana smoke no keep my wife happy. So far, so good. It clears the smoke right away. I've only had it a few days but it works fine so far.

I'm sure I'm using this all for the wrong reasons, but it sure does work great! My apartment complex recently turned into a non-smoking apartment (which means we can't smoke indoors, outside the apartment, or in the parking lot). I work nights at home, and as a female, I feel it's dangerous to smoke a cigarette outdoors past 9:00 PM. I just received my bench top solder smoke absorber, and this thing works like a charm! It's amazing how much smoke this bad boy sucks up. I've tried smoke-less ash trays before. While it does suck up the smoke, it does not dispose of the smell. This Solder Smoke Absorber absorbs that nasty smoke smell and just disappears like magic! I'm going to buy 2 more. Love love love this item!
