They're OK
The concept behind this item is fantastic!I am NOT an outdoorsy person. I hate bugs/insects/etc.When I came across this I thought I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.Having bought torches and all the bug repellent you can think of - I figured this would be easier and more efficient to keep bugs away from food and myself!Let me start off by saying that it does work - to an extent. They're pretty easy to set up.The blades spin pretty fast and aren't sharp in any way. So if you have any curious little fingers there's no worrying about them getting hurt! They're lightweight - the material is plastic - durable in the sense that it won't break if dropped, however, they are easily tipped over. If they were heavier that would be ideal. They are battery operated - if they were rechargeable that would too, be ideal. Who wants to worry about batteries??!! I don't use them often (as of right now) but I suspect the batteries would last long. The set being in a pack of four is pretty useful.I personally wouldn't hand them upside down - just my preference but they do work when upside down.Overall, these work but I think the design could be improved upon. The price is a little steep considering I don't believe this is a high quality product. I would pass on this and look for something else.

Nice product, but seems cheap
This product is really cool. I like the idea and the ease of using it. I like that it doesn't spin so fast it will hurt you if you accidentally put your hand it while it is on.What I don't like, and why only give it three stars, is that the plastic seems kind of cheap to me. Setting them up was easy for some, not so much for others. The towers on some wouldn't snap completely into place and felt like they wouldn't stay extended. I could be wrong about this, but for two of them, they just didn't feel like they were solid enough. Two of the fans easily collapsed down for storage. The third one was difficult, but eventually I was able to collapse for storage. I have been unable to collapse the fourth fan. I have struggled with it, tried all different ways to collapse it, and I cannot get it to collapse. One last issue is that these fans are really light weight. They seem like they could easily get knocked over, or even blown over.I kind of recommend these fly fans, but I wish they were made just a little bit better.

It’s a gimmick for starting a bbq conversation and sorta works too
They take regular batteries, and do sort of work on fly’s. They snap into extended height, but I couldn’t figure out if they are supposed to be able to unsnap back into the box for storage. Safe for kids, soft spinner, so that’s good.

suffers from poor packaging
Unfortunately it looked like someone just threw these in a box. The battery covers were lost for two of the fans and one of the remaining two was broken and won't stay attached. Furthermore the blades were not secured at all and one was so badly bent that the fan won't spin evenly. Finally the way these arrived the fan blades were jammed onto the fans so hard that the motors wouldn't work at all until the blades were taken off and reseated properly. I don't like the way that these were designed in that once they are fully extended something locks inside and you can't collapse them any more for storage. That said, I hope this will discourage wasps and flies from joining us at the picnic table. The holographic blades will be useful at scaring them off as well. It's nice how the fans can cover the food and yet you can reach the food underneath the spinning blades.

These will work well
This is a good option to keep the flies away in the summer. I saw them used in India and was fascinated. There are four so it is enough for an outdoor food table. What i didn't like is once you snap them together to make them tall, you can't undo that action and get them back into the box. They also need batteries and I don't know how long that will last but I'll keep you posted. Batteries are so expensive now.

Great product
Since these are battery operated my advice is to only have them ON when actually being used. So batteries last longer

The NewBeeclassic Fly Fans are for keeping annying insects out of your food.
How to use the NewBeeclassic Fly Fans is pretty much self-explanatory. Put batteries in the base, extend the three base units until the click, turn on the switch on the bottom, and either place the unit on the table or hang it above the table.Although the NewBeeclassic Fly Fans can be hung from above, I have only actually used it sitting on the table. The fan blades are well constructed, yet soft enough that when you put your hand or fingers into the fan blades, the blades are soft and do not cause any injury and no pain.Other reviewers have complained about the price of batteries, so I also tested the NewBeeclassic Fly Fans with rechargeable AA batteries, and the fans worked just fine.I will need to wait for much warmer weather to see how well these work discouraging wasps and hornets when eating outside. The way they work with flies make me think they will also work with meat bees. The only CON I found is that once extended and snapped into place, the NewBeeclassic Fly Fans cannot be un-extended and put back in the box for storage. Although this is a CON, it is not enough of a worry to take away a star.
