Locking without a key
Bought this for my Grandaughter and she really liked it. Especially because it didn’t require a key and the paper was lined

Cool Birthday Present and Good value
My nephew loves the stars and outer space, but he also wanted to start writing without his brothers and sisters getting into his things. We got him this birthday present and he was so happy. This journal helped to improve his writing skills and confidence in his thoughts. This was great!

Seriously - the lock is an issue. But….
We ordered this as a birthday gift for our 8 year old and he loved it. True to other reviews, the lock combo got forgotten after a year and the lock appeared jammed. We tried all the things listed in the instructions and on the videos located here to reset it/open the lock and nothing worked. Then I googled a fix and found a video that worked. It took a few tries but essentially involved holding the square button used for opening the lock towards the combo keys and rotating the number keys back and forth until you can feel the lock give and it pops open. Seriously, search “Opening 3 combo diary lock forgotten password” and you’ll find it.

Works as expected
My child wanted a lockable journal and this seemed like it would work great and it did.

First time opening was confusing.
The directions to open on the product page use words and pictures to open, but are conflicting. Slide LEFT as the words say TL open the first time. I spent 5 minutes sliding right like the photo showed and was getting irritated. I can’t change the password yet, the directions do not help. But once I figure it out the notebook itself is useful and looks nice.

It's pretty. A diary with lock.
I like it. Just got to get in the mood to write what I feel in it. Just lost my husband this year. Hurts to go over all the things I loved about him.
