The Naked Communist: Exposing Communism and Restoring Freedom

Good breakdown of Communism, mixed with typical American whitewashing
Good:1. Concise summary of where Soviet-era Communism/Socialism came from, and its ideology.2. Detailed, and easy-to-follow rebuttals to all major discussion points (of Communism vs Capitalism)3. Chronological breakdown of how Communism played out in practice.4. Clear explanation of the incompatibility of a Communist-worldview and Biblical-worldview.Bad:1. Page 265 mentions the 1960 successful Polaris missile launch from a submerged submarine, which "made Soviet sneak attack plans obsolete." The text does NOT mention that the Soviets likewise were capable of launching such missiles from Submarines in 1960, although launching them from underwater was only accomplished by 1963.2. On page 243, the author claims that "...Sputnik. Built on plans stolen from the United States after World War II... "Such a claim I have never heard of until reading this book. But it is stated as absolute fact, and I believe absolutely wrong. The author furthermore is very careful not to mention operation "Paperclip," and the fact that the bulk of the American space program was based on WWII German blueprints and leadership.Instead, the author associates the tremendous success of the US space program exclusively to Capitalism; with its free flow of ideas, Capital, and self-determination of working occupation. In contrast to Communism.(Of course, the Soviets likewise had their own "paperclip," but the bulk of the German technological spoils of war threw itself into the arms of the American military.)3. On pages 177-178, is a brief overview of who-invaded-who beginning with the German-Soviet Nonagression Pact of August 1939. The author places the blame of the German invasion of France and the rest of Europe squarely on this Nonagression Pact; as this pact would secure Germany's Eastern flank while it plowed through Europe. The author does NOT mention the Franco-German Declaration of 1938 (also a nonagression pact). There is no mention of Soviet attempts at establishing an Alliance in 1939 with Britain and France against Germany - PRIOR to the signing of the German-Soviet Pact in August of that year. No mention of French strategic incompetence in leaving the Ardenne forest flank wide open; which - if it was secured - would have likely bogged down the German Blitzkrieg, forced them to attack the Soviets first, or delay the day of invasion alltogether. I could go on.But no. WWII is to be blamed on Stalin. Because if Stalin hadn't signed the Nonagression Pact with Hitler, then Germany would have never invaded France and Poland due to the threat of Soviet invasion into Germany from the East. At least that is the narrative painted by the author; and although it is not an unreasonable train of thought at first glance, it is stated as the only historical interpretation of events. It is stated as an undisputable fact. And this "fact" couldn't be farther from the truth.4. The entire book is like this. There are many more examples of such revisionist-history layed out by the author. But there is also a lot of accurate history and excellent dissections of Communism. So the book is a mixed bag in this sense.

More relevant now than ever
Written in 1958, “The Naked Communist” is a sobering read, one which details the history of and strategies taken to corrupt the United States of America through the introduction of ideologies that undermine and deconstruct our nation’s foundational truths – God, education, media, marriage, family. For anyone who’s 50 or over and wonders what has happened to the America we grew up in, this book shines a light on how the land of opportunity has slowly turned into a nation of uneducated, angry, confused, violent, drug-addled and bitter citizens who hate their own country. This book should be recommended reading in every civics, social studies, philosophy, and history class in high school and college. I pray that it’s not too late to save our country. Highest possible recommendation.

Vital to understand our current times; should be required reading for high school cirriculua!
Updated now, but originally published in 1958, this book is more relevant now than it was then. I wish I'd read this book 40 years ago, but glad I know about it now. The first chapters give a concise history, which is a little dry. The meat of the book reads like a suspense-adventure novel! The last chapters show what different people groups (ie students, parents, clergy, etc.) can do to stop the process.I highly recommend the book AND suggest following this up with the 2019 book, Stealth War, for a full picture of what's happening in the USA, and for that matter, the whole world. Ignorance is not bliss; it IS the path that communists wish us to follow. in order to achieve their plan of world domination. We are being mislead like sheep to the slaughter, completely unaware of the continual erosion of our precious liberties. This topic is imperative for the current young generations to understand, as the baton of good governance is passed on to them.

Warning on Evils of Communism
This is a very informative well written book. The author does a great job of explaining communism. How it doesn't work and the aspects of communism that have actually been used in our democracy. It is quite eye opening and frightening. This book was originally written in the 1950s but has been revised and updated. I would recommend this especially to the younger generations that are being taught in Universities how good communism is. This book will give many examples of why it is not good. The author covers how communism is the enemy to freedom, happiness, and production.

Describes exactly what is happening to our Nation - and the world - today. This book should have been made necessary to be read by every student in schools from 1958, when the book was published, through today!

Outstanding scholarly material, Horrible construction of product
Book is a timeless warning of the destructive and failed ideas of communism. Pulled from nearly 200 sources, it is worth its weight in gold for including the 45 Goals of Communism (1961) alone, most of which can be checked off for applying to the United States right now.The book itself, however, is alreay falling to pieces as the binding has failed. I've only had it five months.

The realism.
The best explanation of what is happening in the modern day, if I could have it my way every single highschool in America would require an entire class dedicated to this book. Highly recommend. It will scare you once you allow this timeless book open your eyes for you. If you want preview look up “45 goals of the communists” and if it doesn’t hit home you need to open your eyes.
