Smiffys Captain Costume

I found this came up big

Needed for murder mystery evening. Suit on large side but ok after me taking it in. Captains cap not right …shape all wrong but fortunately acquired one from friend. Looked the part for length of time needed.

The costume was decent quality for the price paid, as you can see in the photo I didn’t go as a sailor but as General Aladeen from the dictator, so didn’t need the hat or gloves. This was probably a good thing because the hat was too small for my head and my head is already quite small so I’m not sure who’s head it would actually fit, the gloves were also very small and barely fit my hands, so the chances of them fitting most men are low. Other than that I have no complaints for the costume, it will definitely be useful in the future.

Unfortunately I had to send it back because although the jacket/shirt and trousers were big enough the gloves an hat ( which make the uniform) would’nt fit at all, I doubt if they would have fitted a 10 year old let alone me. To top it all the seller reduced the refund by the return postage although it was clearly not the right size.have given one star for durability as i can’t say as I didn’t use it.

Only gave a 4 star as the gloves were too small and the hat was poor quality had to move the button on the hat as it was not even sewn in the middle of the hat !!! The suit was ok tho

Quality is good for the price, however, the sizing is appalling. I'm a 47"chest and 38"waist, 32 leg. The sizing chart says XL is 46-48, 38, 33. So that's what I ordered. It's huge! More like a 50-52, & 40 inch waist, with a 35 leg. Would have sent it back and changed for a large instead, but time wouldn't allow. Nothing wrong with the quality although you will need to order seperate gloves unless you have tiny hands. A real shame because it looks good. Suggest ordering a size lower.
