I wanted to display a shell I found on a beach in Scotland. This one is so unique because it raises the shell up so it is basically hovering above the TV stand without the bottom of the shell resting on it. Thus, it reduces the possibility of the shell getting accidentally chipped. I scrolled through page after page of normal plate holders and then saw this one and it is PERFECT for this purpose.

I'm using it as a stand for a wall-hanging decoration because I'm in a dorm room and can't put nails in the walls. It's the best option I found, and overall is great, but because it is so light it can't properly support the decoration without falling backwards. So I've put it in a corner leaning against the corner for support. Overall, great item.
