Easy to install. Replaced original perfectly

After 26 years, my well water finally killed the valve I installed when we moved in. I was dreading replacing it, as the best approach with my well system seems to be to not touch it, but I stumbled across this one which looked much like the old one. It dropped right in and works perfectly.

Over the last 20 years, our washing machine water shutoff valve has failed twice.The first time (2013 or so) I had a plumber deal with it and I don't know what he did, so can't comment in detail. The second, during the spring of 2023, I was able to look up both the part and the procedure to replace it via google. The replacement was, for me, pretty trivial.If you already have a Symmons cutoff, this valve is by far the easiest way to solve the most common issues causing leaks. In the original installation, there are are heat-sweated adapters that connect to standard 1/2" copper piping. The valve you're buying here mates to the original adapters and is sealed with two flat rubber gaskets.It's kind of a crude brass casting with several internal seals (that's where mine recently failed) that don't appear to be replaceable. But if the valve requires attention every 10 years or so, it's worth the effort. Certainly, the time involved is only a little more than that needed to find and negotiate with a plumber to do 30 minutes of simple work.

This is a DIY job. Very easy to install in replacing an existing Symmons washer shut-off valve. Just make sure the main water is first shut-off. Kit comes with all the pieces and more.

Yes it worked but it’s very expensive for what it is. Bad value. Typical of a company to make money on cheap parts that eventually fail.

Got a new washer and dryer and realized that the existing water supply plumbing valve had a small drip and some corrosion, which was not a surprise considering it was original to our home built in 1978. Ordered this on Sunday afternoon and it was on our doorstep by 8 a.m. Monday. Watched a video on how to replace it and in 15 minutes, the new valve was in place and working perfectly!

Simple installation and worked as expected. No leaks. Every laundry room should have one in place.

This valve has been around a long time. The one I just replaced was installed originally in 1978. The valve itself was a kludge from the beginning. In other words not long lasting and an overall long term maintenance problem. the design is just not robust. BUT there are reasons for purchasing this repair part instead of actually tearing it out and doing something more robust and modern. For one you might not need to hire a plumber if you are not a jack of the plumbing mechanics yourself. Or you may just be in a hurry because you have other things to do. At any rate it fit the bill for me this time because I had a renter coming in and I had to get out. So thankfully they are still producing this repair part. I assume that I will be totally replacing at some time in the future and everything I need is found right here on Amazon.

Fit as it is was the same. My original center inner gasket (not user serviceable) was not working. I turn off the water, unscrewed the old one, put in the new one with included o-rings and gaskets, and screwed it all back together. Not a drop of water since and the shutoff functions as it should for both hot and cold. I am very satisfied. I just wish I could have serviced the original instead of needing to replace this well build metal unit. Oh well. Cheaper than a flood for certain.

Its a real shame that the original valve fails to shut the water off.. it had only one job to do, and it fail to do that. I don't even know when it stopped working as you would not know it's leaking unless you check, this valve was used in my 20 yr old condo. I was changing my Washing machine out and the hot water still kept flowing despite the valve being in off position, which is when I diagnose this valve failure.This replacement part was 100% fit and original, and fixed the problem. only took 5 mins to undo and install. Its a real shame this valve fails this way.
