Prevagen Extra Strength with Storage Box, 30 Capsules, 1-Pack

Prevagen Extra Strength is a popular over-the-counter brain health supplement containing Vitamin D and apoaequorin (a protein originally derived from jellyfish). It is designed to support memory, but it’s efficacy remains a subject of debate in the scientific and medical communities. Many long-term users report subjective improvements in mental sharpness, focus, and memory recall after a few weeks of daily use. I will update my review in 2 months.

I have been using the product for a couple of years now and the product, for me anyway, seems to hold the speed of my memory loss at bay. I have no side effects from the product. I have tried other products and this seems to work the best so far. I only gave it 4 stars because the packaging is obnoxious! One very sturdy expensive looking box for one little bottle seems like a bit much and breaking down that box is a challenge to make it flat enough to take up less room when I toss it out. I have to use a box cutter to break it down and hope I don't cut myself in the process due to its thickness. They could design the box 1/2 size using less expensive material and save some money and pass the savings along to the consumer. But that would require something from their "design" crew.

My delivery of PREVAGEN is always timely, so I don’t miss a day. I asked my pharmacist, who I completely trust, “does this stuff really work?” as I’d seen the commercials on TV and was a bit skeptical. He replied that he himself was taking it and believed it was helping him, so I decided to try it awhile back. Of course, it doesn’t deliver overnight results and the people on the commercials say they’ve been taking it for several years, but I’ve seen a slight improvement in only a year or so, so I’m sticking with it! You should always talk to your doctor before taking any new supplement, which I have done.

Too expensive

I reviewed several neuro- improving products in the hope of improving my slowing memory and thought processes. This review included Prevagen’s main competitor’s product: Neuriva. For personal reasons, I really wanted Neuriva to win over Prevagen and was quite disappointed when it did not. So, with that prejudicial motivation as my benchmark, I began my informal study. My analysis wasn’t formal or scientific- I examined different products in the category of memory clearing, improved concentration and organizational skills. I chose products off the shelf at Walgreens or CVS; even Ads from the TV, magazines and word of mouth. I wanted to be scrupulous in determining as many options as possible. After a six month trial, I found myself still searching for words mid-sentence and I realized not only was I losing more words in conversations than previously but more keys and TV remotes around the house. I then tried Prevagen. Within three days, I found it easier to “find” a word I had lost in the middle of a conversation. By the end of the next week, I was recalling more “missing words” or conversations which had been difficult for me. By the end of a month I was able to think coherently enough to try a mathematical quiz and I could confidently locate my eyeglasses and the TV remote. I surrendered my prejudicial attitude toward Prevagen and threw all the other products away. Now that I’ve been on Prevagen for one year, I find myself more organized, thinking more clearly and able to organize my life better. I’m still losing an occasional word or thought mid-sentence. Now however, they usually come back to me in a timely manner. So, what is my recommendation? Believe the TV commercials about Prevagen sharing regular individual stories. The people doing the talking might be actors, but they’re mouthing the words someone like me has actually written them down. But, they are telling us the truth- Prevagen really works.
