A bit difficult to fit
One problem I have encountered with this product is it was a bit difficult to fit, the fitting instructions were not clear enough. The smaller of the dual buttons stick in the down position and does not always spring back up which is annoying. It may be that after using it for a while the button will become more loose and spring back up on it`s own.

Works as expected.
I shall try to get through this review without a single toilet joke.Fits well and the instructions were clear. Trimming the serated bars takes a bit of time; make sure you don't take too much off when you're fitting them or the buttons won't be level at the top. This was a fairly bog standard repair and I was a little flushed once I'd finished but I can't pan the product. I'd say you're in luck if you use this so don't let anyone else pooh-pooh it.

OK, eventually, but not amazing
A lot of other reviewers seem to have had the issues I did. The new part doesn't seem quite as good as the 10 year old part it was replacing. I was all ready to give it 1 star and return it, but after reading more reviews, I persevered. I wondered whether it was a cheap copy but comparing more closely it did seem to resemble the original more closely than I first thought. It just didn't fit together quite as well and the plastic seemed cheaper. I had issues with sticking buttons. Then I realised the caps weren't going on as far as they needed to, which caused the buttons to appear misaligned. I got everything set up and then managed to carefully remove the plunger - with ratchet bar still attached - from the top of the button assembly by removing the plates from the bottom and pressing the little non-return 'tab' in as I pulled back up through the mechanism (not disturbing ratcheted length). With the plunger head and bar now in my hand, I could much more firmly press the silver caps on, seeing them push all the way on, before then returning to the assembly. The buttons then sat much better in the unit. However, the motion was still not as smooth as the originals, with the springs struggling to return the buttons to their original position after pressing. A good squirt of silicone lubricant helped them move more freely. So, far too much like hardwork for something that should be a five minute job. Hard to understand how they justify this costing twenty quid.

Be prepare to modify
I fit lots of things for my living. This item was not the same as the armitage one that came off. Due to the height of the flush plungers inside the toilet, this left no ability to adjust the click rods on this button. The old one you can see the white disc, that is part of this button, that is inside the lid can go into a gap in the moulded plastic, but on this one it cant. So cutting the part that sticks out on the large white disc to make it a flat disc was needed to allow the cistern lid to go back on without freeflowing the flush constantly. Once together and set correctly the next fault is the buttons jam when flushing. After some head scratching i found the fault to be on the side of the buttons before the chrome covers go on there are some very small bits of plastic on the edges of the buttons. If you just nip them off slightly with a stanley knife then this will stop the buttons jamming when being pushed after the chrome covers are fitted. Its all working fine now but as others have said the quality is poor and i hope my comments may help you to get yours to run properly.
