Maximum Games - Afterimage: Deluxe Edition Nintendo Switch

I learned about Afterimage from the Amazon Shopping app, and decided to purchase it because of its lower price and game description. I was more than surprised to find out how long the game is, the great combat system, leveling up, vast array of items and weapons, and an interesting story. The game had a few glitches but nothing annoyingly distracting, but the load times are long. I highly recommend Afterimage to anyone into adventure RPGs.

I’ve played a lot of Metroidvania‘s. Besides the incredibly long load screen (like 5 minutes) it is a great game if you like the genre. Beautiful artwork and world. I will play it again once I go through my repertoire of Metroidvania’s including Ender Lillies, Aeterna Noctus, and Blasphemous.It was fun!

This game is amazing, the colors and imagery are a wonderful artistic world that is gorgeous. The various areas feel unique from one another. I strongly recommend this game to fans of side scrolling 2d metrovanias.

The product was superb, the game is super fun but it does take a long while to load, about like 45 secs to 1 and a half minutes. The gameplay is great and amazing, but the game studders and jerks around, the game itself runs at like 10 to 15 fps consistently. Do I recommend this game? Yes, but not on the Nintendo switch. I will conclude and say that you will save yourself from headaches caused by studdering gameplay if just go and buy on any other platforms but the Switch. This does go on sale often on Steam and runs smoother. Overall, Great Game. 4/5

Takes a second to get used to being lost, but this game is an unexpected gem. A great platformer with many hours of replay value.

Had a fun time playing Afterimage, exploring the world, finding new weapons, learning new abilities were really fun and enjoyable. The story is cryptic but eventually you'll understand where everything is going and the artwork is very well done. It's not the best metroidvania ever but it's definitely one of the better ones and I really recommend anyone who enjoys this type of game to give it a try.

I'm surprised this doesn't come up more often, but my physical copy of Afterimage freezes and crashes like crazy. I'm only about 10 hours into the game and have crashed six times already, usually losing at least 30 minutes of progress each time. The game says that it has autosave but it doesn't. A couple times my entire Switch froze to the point where I had to hold the power button down in order to restart. I've played Souldiers and this is far worse! And yes I've downloaded updates. Constant frame drops as well. Aside from the instability, the game itself is wonderful. Classic Metroidvania design. Expansive worlds.
