It is the item I must highly recommend to each and every dog owners.

The only thing I didn't like was the smell, it is a little like a latex smell. Other than that it works great, my dog's paws are softer now. One of my dogs must really like it because he starts closing his eyes like he's falling asleep! Kind of like a foot massage! My other dog hates having her feet touched at all, for any reason....she let me rub this on just long enough to put it on all paws so that says a lot right there! She won't even let you pet the top of her paws let alone the pads. I'll be doing this weekly for them to help combat the dryness they get.

So what I didn’t think about was that my dogs really don’t like having their paws touched. I swear I feel like Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs every time I pull out the lotion. But Reverend has very sensitive skin and his paws get dry and chapped in the winter so I’m willing to give off a few serial killer vibes to keep him healthy.My biggest concern though is that they both are obsessed with licking me when I put lotion on my own skin so I was pretty sure they were going to go to town on their feet after getting lubed up. I wasn’t wrong. Luckily this balm is made of food grade ingredients so while I won’t let Kudzu eat it straight from the jar - which he really wants to do- I don’t worry so much about them ingesting it. As a bonus, it is virtually odor free so I don’t mind getting in a little extra moisturizing on my own paws while I’m massaging theirs. I am hopeful that with repeated exposure, they will learn to love their doggie spa treatments. And I will enjoy not being stepped on with paws that are rougher than a junk yard dog's.

While trimming my cat's nails, I noticed that one of his little pink paw pads was dry and cracked. I used this balm on it and it allowed his little paw to heal in just a few days.PROS:- Kitty doesn't object to the smell.- Super easy to apply with just a fingertip.- Kitty allows me to apply the balm without fussing.- Kitty does not lick the balm off after applying, thereby allowing it to work its magic.I'm very happy with this purchase!

Thanks for reading my review!My dog is finicky about having stuff on their paws, and for the life of them, will not wear booties here nor there... they will not wear them anywhere!Soooo this product is a great alternative.Although this wax won't keep his paws warm, it helps avoid the effects of extreme Chicago weather by keeping the pads moisturized. And though this is only 2 oz, a little goes a long way.Bottom line: This helps keep pep in my pet's step, making me happy as a clam.
