The first thing that strikes you when wearing these is the padding.Thick, wide foam padding around the ankle and shoe tongue which should help to prevent rubbing and improve comfort, but for me it is excessive.The toe box is very snug, people with wide feet should be wary.Once laced up the boot has a remarkably snug sock like grip. Combined with the thick foam this shoe could be an issue for some as your feet swell up a few miles in.The lace is system is traditional, thankfully easy to manipulate and adjust, however the heavily padded tongue makes it awkward.The tread is formidable and gratefully not overly deep like some, which should lead to stable movement.I get some heel slippage, not extreme but which socks you choose to wear will be, as always an important issueWith the heavy padding and heel slippage I think this is a hard shoe to get a perfect fit, on the one hand I would advise going a half size up due to the padding BUT I get heel slippage as well which would deter me from going up even a half size. You need a good collection of socks to aid you here.Water proof and protective against wet and cold conditions.A fair price

When I opened the box I thought they're were a great looking pair of boots. I'm normally a size uk11 but one foot is ever so slightly longer than the other and almost all my shoes/boots area compromise once my feet warm up however I had no issues with these boots as they are a generous size 11 with a nice wide fitting. I've never tried this brand before but I'm really glad I did.After a long walk I do find the insole a little hard under the balls of my feet (my reason for 4 star comfort rating) so perhaps I'll try and switch the innersoles for some memory foam ones to see if it helps, they're certainly not uncomfortable and this is a minor issue for me, it may not be for you.What I really like is when its time to take them off, they're so easy to remove, I'm guessing because of the way the ankle is designed. Just so much better than all my previous brands of walking boots and the difference was instantly noticeable.I've walked early mornings through heavy dew on grass, through streams and muddy puddles and so far they've held up well with no leakage/wet socks. Coming down steep slopes I no longer get the toe pinch I was used to on my berghaus boots so if this is something you notice too, these are well worth considering.Overall I'm very happy with these and they're my first Salomon boots.

At the price (currently £149.99), these are really top quality walking boots. They are comfortable and have useful quick release laces allowing them to be removed quickly if necessary. I have not yet had chance to check out the waterproof-ness of the boots in the field properly, but on drizzly days and muddy paths, my feet remained dry.When I say "comfortable", I really do mean that they are very comfortable - nicely padded and with a nice bounce to the sole; and very grippy.In terms of fit, I am a size twelve with relatively wide feet and these boots fit exactly as expected.For the price, you really can't go wrong with these boots - very highly recommended (assuming they remain as waterproof as they seem to be).

I've used this type of boot for many years outdoor on the hills as well as town and country. have always found with Salomon boots and general foot ware the quality is head and shoulders abovecheaper makes and in the long term you get more use out of them than anything cheaper.It has a Gore-tex lining which keeps your feet dry, Which means warm feet. Nicely made.If you have a very broad foot please check fitting as I find Salomon foot ware can be slightlynarrow compared to other makes.A good ribbed sole for anywhere needing extra grip.For me a great fit and comfortable.

Very snazzy but really tight on my wide feet. Tested at the beach, no water has leaked through. Going in a country walk this weekend. Will up date later.Thank you

These are awesome!I have wanted a pair of Salomon boots ever since I saw them being reviewed on tv some years ago.They really are amazing in both looks and style.They are really durable, have excellent traction and are so comfortable, or would be had I chosen a size bigger.I would strongly recommend going slightly larger and wearing a thick sock.As a Vine customer, a half size wasn’t made available to me and being hasty I ordered too quickly without considering the sizing properly.Had I have thought more , I would have I selected a size bigger, at UK 10 but preferably a 9 1/2.A nod to the company for making half sizes.As a result I find the toes pinch a little and I’m unsure if they will flex any with wearing as the toes are rigidly reinforced?This said, the heels are so comfortable and protect the ankles well.The insole soft and spongy and make my soles feel relaxed.The uppers are well bonded and being gortex, impermeable to water ingress.The quick release laces are brilliant for anyone that has struggled with traditional tie up laces.So a full marks, five star review for sure.Sadly I can’t wear them but nonetheless appreciate how great these really are.

These are super comfortable, I’ve avoided wearing boots because I’m not supposed to wear non Royal Mail boots for work but I decided to take the hit and wear them and it was worth it. Doing 30’000 steps a day makes things so much easier at the end of the shift without my feet throbbing or having blisters.
