Good taste and color
I bought this as a coloring agent more than a flavoring agent, in order to try to get a nice red royal icing for cookies without using a ton of food coloring. I just added a spoonful of this “red” cocoa (it’s reddish brown) to the red icing after putting in a modest amount of Americolor Super Red and within about 15 minutes the color was a nice Christmas red. I used it on sugar cookies and got compliments on the slight chocolate flavor as well as the appearance.

Excellent flavor!
I bought this to make triple chocolate peppermint bark cookies for my girls for Christmas. It is very rich and flavorful! I also used it to make homemade hot cocoa. I used what the recipe called for, but I think I will only need half of the amount when I make more in the future, as it was soooo strong. So it is not only really tasty, but with needing to use less that what the recipes call for, it is a good value as well.

Good Cocoa Flavor, Reddish Hue
Reading the description I expected the color to be very red. It is more of a reddish hue variant of typical cocoa powder. It does have a fragrant cocoa smell and works well in recipes that call for cocoa powder. If you are trying for a red velvet cake then you will probably need to boost the reds with additional coloring. The bag is a resealable paper with foil lining bag that does seem to keep it fresh. The powder is fine and it did not come with any clumping so the humidity was well regulated during packaging. Overall this powder has a rich cocoa flavor that will work well any any recipe that calls for it. The red hue will lend to give your recipe a subtly different look compared to other cocoa powders. Just remember don't look under the bag.

More brown than expected
More brown than I expected. If you're used to the probably fake now that I'm thinking about it devil's food red velvet, this is a much darker brown/red kinda color when finished.

Very nice flavor
The Anthony’s red cocoa powder is very good in homemade brownies. Nice flavor. Helpful hint - scoop it out of the bag slowly otherwise as I experienced, some of it will become airborne due to its very fine particles.

Smells lovely
When you first open this product make sure you do a good job tapping the product down. I first tried tearing one side and a little spilled out quickly. This powder is rather fine and smells really good. The chocolate flavor is solid, I like using this with sweet chocolate.

Delicious and rich but double the price or regular cocoa
Before I found this chocolate powder I honestly didn't even realize that there was such a thing as red cocoa powder! At first I thought that it must have been dyed or something but after doing some reading I realized that it is just a different type of cocoa that has a more red hue. The name makes you think that if you make a cake with it you will have more of a red velvet cake, but it really wasn't. It still looks brown, just with a slightly different shade of brown. This chocolate makes a deliciously rich cake that everyone loved. This cocoa powder came in a nice resealable Mylar bag that has held up really well with opening and closing many times. While this cocoa is delicious it is definitely a lot more expensive. Even just looking at the same brand this cocoa powder sells for $1.37 per oz and regular cocoa powder from the same brand sells for .56 cents per oz.
