You will get a lots of function for the money.Pros: compact, well made bag. Zips are excellent. Laptop protection is very good. Dropped my bag and the corner protection was working well, no damage.Middle holder bag capacity can be extended using the zip extension.The third holder has lots of small pockets and a removable pen holder.Back padding is very good, lower back support is padded as well, with an extra pocket for values.I find the side pockets rather small, despite it fits a 500ml plastic bottle, I would prefer a taller pocket, which would enable to use own water bottles.The only weaker point I can see the straps. The chest strap broke after 3 days and had to remove it. The straps themselves are still holding out, but I can see they will be the first one to be replaced due to the constant use and pulling they must endure.In overall the bag is an excellent buy, and would purchase it again.

Update: Feb 2014 - It looks like there is a new version of this bag, so please note that the description below may no longer be accurate - my bag is still going strong and looks as new after over 2 years.I picked one of these up for a 3 week trip with my laptop including several flights and it performed just as I wanted. It's made of very tough thick-weave nylon and while it won't win any fashion prizes it actually looks quite stylish in an understated way. The straps are nice and thick and feel comfortable to wear, it has a phone holder on the shoulder (although I prefer to use my pocket), a bottle holder on each side and a waist strap that can be removed completely. It also has the ability to slip over the extendable handle of a trolley case, though I found the handle was too short on my medium-sized case - this will work better on a small trolley case with a long handle. The zips feel heavy duty and are lockable on the main sections.At the back you have the laptop compartment, which contains some air-filled plastic tubes held in place with velcro to hold the laptop in place - these can be adjusted to the correct size. I was carrying a 13" Sony Vaio laptop inside a Targus Slim-Line Case MacBook 13.3-inch - Black for extra protection and it was a perfect fit. There's also a velcro strap at the top to hold the machine in the bag.Next along is another quite large compartment designed for accessories. A nice touch is the removable rectangular bag inside which is a good size for a power adapter and cabling, and fits squarely in the bottom of the bag. There are several low dividers (quite unobstructive so not really a problem if you have no use for them) for documents etc and a small net compartment on the front wall for smaller accessories. It also has a key clip at the top of this section which I now consider invaluable. This whole compartment can be significantly increased/ decreased in size with an external zip around the bottom.Finally, the smaller front compartment has a couple of pouches and is divided in half with a section for cds/ dvds (which I could do without to be honest), which is useful for small items - I found this was a good place to hold our passports. Externally there's also another small zip compartment, and a non-zipped slip compartment. I managed to fit a surprising amount of things in the bag and did also use it as a overnight bag for myself and my wife - minus the laptop - without issue.All in all a great bag and I doubt you could find anything better for the job at this price.

The bag is great and my laptop is supported well. The compartments are well positioned, sized and well thought out. I did love this bag and the company, but things have changed for me now.The Sale of goods act 2015 covers products up to 6 years as ‘reasonable’ length of service. Targus offers a ‘lifetime’ warranty which I thought was worth paying premium brand prices for, however, once over 6 years old, it seems it becomes ‘fair wear and tear’ and not covered. Even when one layer of management agree to replace the bag, another layer suddenly overrules the decision and refuses to honour any promises of warranty. Suffice to say, I shan’t be purchasing further Targus products…

Bought this backpack from Amazon on April 2017, 11 months ago, with daily use to the office and back and I really wanted to give this feedback because I think it is deserved.I have been daily carrying a 15.6 inch laptop plus several other things (tablet, documents, many personal items, ext hdd, usb cables etc.). I use it between home and office and on all my business air travel.This backpack has stood exceptionally well with zero issues so far. Throughout the years I have used several laptop backpacks of many well known manufacturers even more than twice the price of the Targus, but quality wise and from functionality point of view I believe this Targus is on a different level. Storage capacity is top and compartment arrangement is simply the best I have seen so far (and I have owned a lot of backpacks). It is also very discreet, all black no fancy logos etc. so very good for professional use.So far I had no issue at all and did not need to use the warranty, so I cannot comment on their customer service. That being said, I would look at no other manufacturer and would definitely buy this backpack again if needed.I would surely recommend it, especially for professional use.
