Good quality, but pricey unit eliminates the need for a smartphone to view the inner ear canal.
An excellent idea: Check ears without the need for a smart phone! This is a very welcome idea. It's a set of curettes to illuminate and see inside the ear canal, and it's very nicely designed. The kit seems to contain quality components, not the least of which are the 50 fiber-optic curettes. There are many choices when it comes to home otoscopes. I like this one because it doesn't require you to use a smart phone with it. This works using a light device on one end, along with a small spoon-like device on the opposite end (the part that goes in the ear. The curette is carefully placed into the ear canal, and the tip is illuminated. There is a clip on magnifier on the curette. This allows what you're looking at to be magnified.Ear wax debris can then be removed safely with the tiny illuminated spoon end. There are 50 curettes in this set, along with several replacement spoon tips.

Neat tool
This is a great set of ear wax remover tools.Simple yet effective.Basically, there is a handle with a light source that channel focused light into the ear cavity to show what you are working with. There are 50 disposable clear plastic tool tips as well as a magnifying glass tip that clips on.It works well and the tips are all individually wrapped.Nice kit.

Haven't had a chance to test since no one wants to clean out my ears!!
These apparently are prescription only, according to the front of the box, but I still got them. They look durable yet soft. The light is a big plus as an otoscope won't really be needed, but a second person will. I thought I would be able to use them personally, but you'll need help. The magnifying piece is interesting, not sure if it will help much, but the loupe should be able to clear out ears pretty good. Will update once I convince my FIL (PA) to clean out my ears!

Good Idea, Poorly Executed; Way Overpriced for What You Get
This is a good idea, but poorly executed. You get a light, a magnifier and fifty plastic curettes, all of the same style. If you want any of the spoons or other styles you have to order those separately. All of the parts are made of cheap plastic. I don't see how that is any gentler on the ear than stainless. And with stainless you can clean and sterilize it instead of throwing the curettes away like they say to do after each use with this set.To make it work, you insert a curette into the light source and twist to lock it into place. There is no on/off button; the light comes on when the curette is inserted and does not go off until it is removed. The instructions mentioned nothing about replacing the light source battery when it wears out, and I saw no way to get the unit apart for battery replacement. I guess you're suppose to toss it and get a new one when that happens. The curettes come in two tear open plastic bags. It would make a lot more sense to put them in zip top bags. They are not sterile. The magnifying glass is not very useful. Our grandson has very waxy ears. The curettes did not seem to remove much wax. They got some, but slid through most of it. An ear spoon would have worked better. I ended up using an oiled cotton swab and my reading neck light to get most of the wax, then used the curette, along with my reading light again, to tidy up a few loose bits. I felt I needed more light than was provided by the device. The instructions say to use an otoscope before and after using the device to see what needs to be cleaned out and if you got it all. I would say if you had a large, dry chunk of wax in there this might help. For general cleaning, it's not much help. The price of $94.95 must be a joke. The quality of this device in no way justifies that. I would say $15, maybe $20 at most. I was certainly expecting a lot better quality for the price. I hate to give a bad rating to a US made product, but this just isn't that great, especially for the price.

Difficult to Use
This is difficult to use and dangerous because it's hard to see how close you're getting to the tympanic membrane. You could easily rupture it especially since the tips are pointy. I would recommend getting an otoscope or one of the digital ear tools instead.

Very expensive tool for ear wax removal, product works okay
This ear wax removal tool is pretty much just a pick that help remove your earwax. The tool has a curved design to get to harder to reach place and has a light to see better. The product does work for what it's advertised, but I think the price is a lot more expensive compared to some other earwax removal kits out in the market. What I like:1. Works as advertised2. Special design for hard to reach place3. Built-in lightConcerns:1. Expensive

Good light visual
This tool comes with 50 one use curetes, a light, and an attachable magnifying lens. The light is activated when the curete is inserted and shuts off when it is removed. The curetes are firm and do not move freely while inserted into the light tool. There is a small oval at the end of the tool to scrape any ear wax from inside the ear. The light allows for a better visual of the ear canal. With this to, I was able to see better into the ear than usual.
