Anyone with an interest in our British cinema will love this collection from our greatest(?) studios. The choice of films across the four boxes in the series is well made and covers most of the genres popular at the time. As a child of the fifities and sixties I can revel in the nostalgia and innocence of a more content age. There is no CGI or special effects beyond the very basic and it is down to clever direction and adaptation by using what was available in terms of sets and locations. Great viewing - enjoy!!

All the films contined in Volume three are a delight. A gentler England with many good snippets of post-war scenarios.First-class acting - The Ladyillers of course is a classic, even though I have seen it many times, I still chuckle at its humour,railway fans will enjoy the scenes of the enterance to Kings Cross.Scott's tragic story has a pathos that most modern mindsets don't understand - he was part of the Empire and thought anything was possible, albeit a flawed strategy, unlike Amundsen's sound plan.These are films for a winters day, to curl up on the sofa and enjoy!

I was familiar with all of these gems but I hadn't seen The Magnet.This is a lovely innocent film both for children and adults.A young James Fox is fantastic. A post war Liverpool is interesting too.Why it's not on the television more I don't know!

I do enjoy Ealing Studios old films. Watching old motor cars, studying the clothes and fashions, and the comedy is truly delightful. My favourite actors are Alastair Sim and Alec Guinness.

Ealing Studios issued some of the most entertaining films ever produced and make excellent gifts. I was pleased to add this to my own growing collection and introduce it to a dear friend.

I particularly wanted The Magnet b.ut to get a box set great value.I ahve always been an Ealing studio fan and this collection does not disappoint
