Excellent, robust and quiet!
As a fit cyclist, I was prepared to pay a bit extra for a magnetic under table cycle trainer and this has very much fulfilled expectations. I have the fortune to have a standing desk at work but share an office so having a quiet machine was important. This is silent. The smooth and variable resistance is entirely satisfying and is not dissimilar to my high end turbo trainer at home. Set up for anyone that has ever attached a pedal to a cycle is easy and took 2 minutes. The pedals have standard gauge and I have thought about swapping out for SPDs from home. One point of note. Somewhere in the notes there was a comment to try to press down rather than out on the pedals. This is well worthwhile. With a very slightly altered pedal technique with sole of foot slight inclined backwards the machine stays dead steady. No creep or movement. Whereas with the machine out in front of you, the machine pushes forward and you back.Very satisfied. Seems very robust.

Recommended piece of kit
I bought this piece of kit as I am partially disabled and wanted a way of exercising without going out in the rain. I have a left sided weakness following a brain haemorrhage and have found other equipment to be unusable due to my left foot falling out of any pedal with just a single velcro strap. With this in mind, I also bought the medical level foot pedals for this and they are great, no chance of my left foot falling out of the pedal and no movement or slippage of foot position. Now onto the review..... This is a first class piece of equipment and I am very pleased with my purchase. I get an excellent workout with this and find myself working up quite a sweat after going on average 25km an hour on each session. The resistance can be easily adjusted and goes from a light motion to a heavy resistance which makes your muscles work well. The unit itself is very portable, its not too heavy and can be carried upstairs easily and with the unit being so compact, it can be easily stored. Now onto the reason why I am only giving this four stars - the stability of the unit whilst being pedalled is not the greatest. The length of the base is adjusted by moving a t shaped bar in or out of the base unit and using a single screw to hold it in place. This is where the unit lets itself down. The single screw is tightened up against the bar and not inserted into holes (unlike other equipment I've used). While using this, the screw has not kept the t shaped bar in place which has resulted in a half centimetre high groove (about 6 inches long) being gouged out by the screw moving along the length of the bar. I have put the unit on a fairly high setting and it doesnt stay in the same location on the floor. As a result, I placed the base against a wall which works fine. With the base legs resting against a wall, any strong pedalling causes the t shaped bar to be pushed into the base hence the screw gouging out the groove and the base being shortened which causes some instability at higher tensions. As a result of the bar being pushed into the base unit, I cut a piece of 1"x2" wood into two 42 cm lengths and wedged one either side of the unit which prevents the t bar recessing into the base unit. Whilst this is a crude workaround, I feel that it could have been prevented if the t bar had holes for the screw to go into and there's enough length in the bar to have holes every 2 inches or so. Although the t bar and screw lets it down, I am getting a decent workout from this trainer. I use it sitting in the same position as the woman in the picture and it is so quiet I have been able to watch television without having to turn up the volume. Overall, a recommended piece of equipment but be prepared to improvise if you expect to get a good workout from it.

Brilliant trainer.
I got this trainer the day after it was ordered. On opening the box, I immediately noticed that the trainer was a quality item. It was very quickly assembled, using the supplied tools. I used it for the first time, whilst sitting on my favourite leather couch. In doing an exercise lasting 15 minutes, I was able to continue watching TV. Furthermore, the trainer stayed firmly in one place, during its use. Because the trainer is so quiet in operation, it has no impact on other activities. You can use it watching TV, whilst on the phone or on the computer etc. The digital display which shows distance, calories, time etc, is easily read, and easy to use. Although this trainer is more expensive than other trainers, it is still good value. As it is a quality item, which is well worth the purchase price. Need less to say, I am delighted with this purchase and the Amazon buying process. I would definitely recommend this trainer.

Very pleased
My husbands disabilities prevent him from doing conventional exercises, or using standard exercise equipment. This seamed a good idea to be able to exercise sitting in a chair. I looked at the cheaper versions, and was put off by buyers comments of it them being too light and feet slipping, also by what appeared to be poor tension adjustment. The extra for this machine did seem a bit much, but it did say it was used by professionals. We have had many pedal cycles over the past few years and although much more expensive than we normally spend this one is in a league of its own. It would appear that the old saying of you get what you pay for holds true. This is a sturdy, well built machine. It is quite heavy and the span of the legs combined with good gripping feet mean it doesn't move when peddling, it is very stable on the floor, easy to pedal and has minimal noise. The front feet can be slid forward to extend the base length half as much again, so it is very stable. The tension adjustment knob has to be turned five complete revolutions between low and high tension, so you get very fine control. The peddle action is very smooth and quiet, though I think you may have to get fit before tackling the maximum tension. If you want to use the machine sitting in a computer chair which normally has casters, straps are provided to go round the base of the chair and attach to front legs of machine to stop the chair moving. I'm not sure how accurate the readout is, of distance and speed etc, but I don't think that really matters anyway, you know your own limits. This is a perfect machine for those with limited mobility. Very pleased

Great little piece of kit
I use this as an under-the-desk cycle trainer while working. I’m an avid rider and have owned a few indoor trainers. This definitely isn’t a replacement for a true indoor trainer, but it’s great for getting some movement while working. The resistance can be set relatively high. It’s also quiet, which is good when working.
