Nifeliz CO490 Steam Train, Iconic Locomotive Building Set with Track, Collectible Railway Model Toy for Adult Gift Giving (808 Pieces)

I am a long time Lego purist, I should say that upfront. I decided to give this set a try because I really like the design and look of the train. I appreciate that design of this train is very unique, and is clearly inspired from an American locomotive design, while ALL of Lego's trains are clearly based on European designs. Nothing against European trains, but I think American trains are prettier ;)I can honestly say that this is a very good set and given the price point, I think it is worth the time. The base of the train is VERY well designed, it is very detailed and well thought out. I was surprised that the pieces were solid, they connected well with no issues, and the set was complete. The instructions are a little difficult to understand, but I actually found that to be part of the fun of building this set, you actually had to pay attention to the build and figure out where they were leading you along the way.My one and only criticism is that this set is clearly a display set, it is not intended to be powered up and run around your Holiday tree. The base of the locomotive is exceptionally solid, but the outer part (exterior shell) of the set has a number of single point connections which easily fall or break off, and I have had to make a number of fixes and still not everything can be fixed here. Putting that aside, this is a fun, cool build. I was very impressed overall, and given Lego's penchant for ridiculous price increases this set offers exceptional value and a fun build experience. I will very likely order another one of these products, and I will no longer outright dismiss products not made by Lego.

Easy to assemble rating should be 4.5 I will discuss below. It is described as a challenging model... it is. Industry standard is Legos. I agree with other reviews stating that a few parts need to be glued on... that has never been my experience with Legos. Model design is excellent in a product area that Legos appears to have abandoned. Individual part quality is excellent. Instructions containing an inventory of parts, as done by Legos, would be very helpful. Price is outstanding. Best part for me was outstanding customer service. My model was missing some parts. Customer rep got back to me within 24 hours and shipped me the replacement parts. They arrived two weeks later from China. I know we are not supposed to mention people in reviews. However, diligent, competent people make any business work. My rep. was outstanding. Thank you C. I hope you see this review. Bottom line: I did buy two more Nifeliz models. One as a gift.

I have a tween that loves trains, and I was happy to find this set for him. Beautiful color and nice size.Problem areas: more connecting places on the sides for the final bricks, tends to fall off if bumped. Not enough for the entire section to hold firmly.Instructions need refinement: not all indicate the constant direction and flipping of bricks, also not a fan of the color changes as you move to the next section in the book.Bagging: we are used to legos and the marked bags and the marked booklet to match. This was a problem as there were multiple bags and pieces from each. Also our box had 5-12 pieces loose shoved into the box upon opening. There were numbers on some of the bags, not large and not sure if it was more for the manufacturer/packer and most was in Chinese/Mandarin. Would like a large number on each bag and a large number in the booklet to indicate what needs to be open at what point. Did appreciate the trays sent for brick use.Would like: more engine options! Rolling stock cars and as the tween said - wouldn’t it be cool if they offered more track? He’d like to display on a full track if he could.Thanks for the trains! Totally piqued my kids brick building patience and interest in a subject he totally enjoys. I’m interested in more new designs for Christmas 2024.

This is my first kit by Nilfeliz. I figured for the price, I wouldn’t be out of a lot of dollars if it wasn’t up to par. Fortunately, this turned out to be a great kit and one worth displaying.The pieces are excellent quality, fit together easily and securely, and there were no quality issues (e.g. short shots, discolorations, etc.). The only piece that’s a little loose is the headlight on front so I might super glue that in place. Also, there were no missing pieces.The instructions are very clear and organized in a logical fashion and the print quality is excellent – no streaking, fading, blurring, etc. While not a major issue, it can sometimes be difficult to ensure you have the correct shade of grey (light vs medium grey) for the particular assembly. But it’s not too hard to figure out. It took me about three or so hours but that’s taking my time and enjoying the build.Overall, I’m pleased with it and ended up ordering several different versions of their trains. Unfortunately LEGO doesn’t offer train kits like this but I wouldn’t consider this a LEGO knockoff either – this kit stands on its own. They could charge much more for it and it would still be a worthy kit. Hopefully they’ll make some more of the modern diesel locomotives like the F9 and Dash-8.

It wasn’t an overly difficult build. It took me about 3 days of work with about 2-3 hours each day (give or take). All the parts were there! It would be nice if they were placed into clearly labeled bags. Every so often, you’ll be working through a bag and then you need a part that is in a different bag but you’ll only need that one part from that bag for a while. Also, some parts are quite fragile. The bricks are good quality, but sections of the locomotive are sensitive to touch. The grey shrouding on the sides for instance is difficult to put pressure on when putting them on. Just be careful! I would recommend this to others though!

I've built nearly all of the Nifeliz train kits. They all had their challenges. Mostly fragility issues. I found one missing and one misshaped piece that were quickly replaced. A big shout out to Nifeliz. They got back to me within 24 hours and replaced the parts quickly. They shipped snail mail but that wasn't too bad. They kept me updated which was appreciated. I've had a couple of L branded kits with missing pieces so it happens.Kit is nicely built. Printed parts instead of stickers which was nice. Zero fragility issues. Solid train and looks very nice on display. I hope they keep building more.Historic F1 cars would be a great series!

Pues nada mas abrir la caja encuentro piezas sueltas y las bolsas sueltas también. Las instrucciones mal dobladas y algo estropeadas y un solo tubo de 220mm dorado que decora la locomotora por todo el costado... Que digan en el producto que te aseguran el 98,98% de las piezas no es broma. Estoy esperando respuesta del servicio al cliente. Si hay buen servicio cambiare mi puntuación. La locomotora en si esta chula una vez acabada. No tiene opción de motorizarlo y no trae las gomas de las ruedas para que no derrape por las vias.

Diese Rezension von mir richtet sich hauptsächlich an Erwachsene.Dieses Modell von Nifeliz ist bzw soll die L-1 Hudson der Chesapeake and Ohio darstellen ( Das Original stehe im B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore USA ).Das Modell ist knappe 8 Noppen breit und trifft das Vorbild sehr gut. Die Details sind gut umgesetzt ( sofern vorhanden das das Vorbild durch die Stromlinienverkleidung sehr detaillos bzw glatt ist ). Die Logos sind gut bedruckt und es gibt keine Aufkleber in diesem Set. Die Anleitung ist eher für denn erfahrenen Bauer gedacht und nicht für KinderJEDOCH ! Der Tender im vergleich zur Lok viel zu kleine in jeder Hinsicht. Die Länge ist gerade mal die Hälfte sowie die Anzahl der Achsen ( 6 im Original ). Es ist zwar Platz für die Batteriebox, doch leider keine Kohle oder ähnliches was denn Platz der Box einnimmt. Des weiteren ist der Tender nur 6 Noppen breit und wirkt hinter der Lok damit auch von Oben sehr sparsam.Das Modell ist ebenfalls nicht zum fahren gedacht, da die Verkleidung an der Lok die Drehgestelle am ausschwenken hindert. Der Fehlende Stein am Tender ( auch in anderen Rezensionen erwähnt ) fehlte ebenfalls auch bei mir.Sollte man sich dieses Modell als Standmodell kaufen und ein paar Steine in grau und gelb über haben um denn Tender zu vergrößern ist es ein tolles Modell für denn Preis. Um sie jedoch fahren zu lassen lieber auf andere Loks zurück greifen.
