Music Theory for Young Children Book One, Second Edition: 1 (Poco Studio)

I have been using this book for my piano students for a few years and all of my young students love this book. This book makes learning theory fun and happy. The activities, like sticking stickers and colouring, are fun to young kids.I like the material used for the book and the stickers. Even when my students stick a wrong sticker, it is easy to remove and allow the little one to stick it back to the correct place.The knowledge taught in the book is essential for beginners. The book enables my students to learn to read music faster.

My daughter has been learning to play the piano for approximately 6 months and her piano teacher recommended we buy this theory book. She’s already completed two different theory book and this one seems quite similar in terms of its level. I like how colourful the pages are and I’m sure my daughter will enjoy completing the activities.

I love this series. For anyone under the age of about 9, I start them on these books instead of Grade 1 theory. They build up very gradually over four books to Grade 1 standard, with this first book being accessible from the very first music lessons. The middle is full of stickers to add to various pages and there are lots of fun activities with plenty of colouring. My pupils always beg to do this book each lesson. Better than others I have tried for this age group. I've used it very successfully from ages 5 - 8 ish. But to be honest,if I had to learn theory from scratch I'd be happy to work it myself!

So much fun and very engaging for a 5 year old onwards. You can help your child with this even if you know nothing about music. Activities, theory, explanations and exercises. 6 stars

I love this book for my preschoolers. The stickers let them do the activities even if they don't write well yet, and it doesn't take them half of forever to do a page, as some other books which tend to be heavy on coloring do. The bright colored pages are appealing.

My 4 year old son's piano teacher recommends. This exercise book is good for young kid and beginner. Lots of activities and colorful pictures. It attaches kid to learn about music. Shipping takes over 1 month.

As a teacher, this book is absolutely amazing! I use this book with my three, four and five-year-olds but even the older kids who are just starting out love it. It is very simple. We use it as a part of lessons so any instruction that needs to be given happens during the lesson. There are not a lot of instructions written in the book, but that's what makes it so it can be used in multiple countries....it has both the American English a British English note systems which is fantastic in prepping kids for a more global experience.

Clear and fun introduction to music notation for kids. The stickers make it all the more fun for little children!
