An excellent heavy duty stainless steel U bracket that I used to keep my wood heater’s pressed Copper heat shield about 1” from the wall.It already has the 2 holes at the bottom to allow some air flow through and another hole on the side face great for anchoring these U brackets to the My fireproof fiber cement wall using 2 expandable toggle screws once I had drilled an additional bole for the second toggle screw anchor and there’s ample room on the opposite face to spot weld a 3mm thick x1” wide flat s/steel bar in between the bracket on its front face .Then I simply laid my heat shield against the flat bar for horizontal support and riveted the heat shield to the flat bar using Copper rivets.I made 4 sets of these brackets to support a 2200 x 900mm heat shield weighing 16kg safely to the wall.With thicker heat shields the spot welded horizontal brace would not be necessary.SENTRY brackets really anchor the assembly to the wall and allow a little over 1” between my heat shield and the wall.Stainless steel won’t react with the Copper heat shield so that’s another bonus.As well as being an alternative use for these SENTRY brackets they complied with AS/NZS2918.2001.Sometimes you have to think laterally for a solution and SENTRY brackets were mine!

I see lot people giving low reviews because the ‘paint’ is rubbing off. Take a closer look. It’s a protective sticker and peels off to clean metal. Nice piece!

I needed four U brackets that were 1" in width. They fit perfectly for my project. However all four brackets shipped without any hardware ( T-27 Torx Fasteners). As you can see by the one package I opened, at the bend point the paint is missing. As another reviewer pointed out, the cause of this is most likely the metal panel was painted when the sheet was straight and then configured into a U shape. If the bracket is hidden which it would be for my project it is not an issue.

Secured a door with this brace where the wood was too broken up keep repairing. Read other reviews about paint peeling? It’s gun metal in color, that white is the protective seal that peels off so it doesn’t get scratched before you install lol

Nice piece. Other reviews that mention the part being used or painted are wrong. The part has a white sticker on it to protect the finish. This sticker pulls off cleanly and easily. The stainless steel finish underneath is perfect.

Yes, the coating/covering is scraped of at the back edges. I just peeled it off completely. This gave me a nice metal finish, just right for my purposes. Nice strong bracket.

Poor execution. Recommend looking elsewhere that has basic quality control measures in place

This piece came with a painted/powder-coated finish on the exterior facings. It appears that the metal was stamped after the finish was applied because it is scraped off along the crease edges... I’m not using it to secure a panel so it’s not a huge deal for me, but it would need painted when installed. I would just prefer a clean bare- metal finish.
