VTechTwist and Teach Animal Cube

I was excited to try out this new item from VTech, given the amount of success that we have had with its toys, but I do think this one was a bit of a disappointment. The quality on this item is great, as you would expect from the brand, but I just feel like it could have been made with a bit more functionality built in, especially given the age range provided in the description (12-36 months).As an example, I expected this to be able to be twisted both horizontally and vertically (kind of like a Rubik's cube), but it only goes horizontally. Our 2-year-old son took immediate interest in this, as he always does with new toys, but that interest faded almost as immediately, once he figured out what he could do with it. I would definitely say this caters more to the younger kids in that given range - if you were gifting this, I would even say that you could probably do so for kids younger than 1, with the thought that they will grow into using this as they take more interest in alphabets, animals, and rides.Even though this probably won't last us very long with our son, I still give it 4 stars for the quality of the item and the cuteness of the product overall. The star off is mainly for what I feel like isn't the best age group fit in the description - the product itself is well-made, like you would expect from VTech.

This animal cube is fun to help smaller kids learn their letters and objects. It helps them learn in an easier form so that they can remember what an object or animal starts with and the sound.

First thing I noticed when getting this item in is it’s size. It’s not very big which is actually a good thing. It super portable and we bring it along on car rides for our one year old to press and spin.Interactiveness is a little lacking though. Only the top half actually moves and each button doesn’t seem to have much variance besides. The spinning top part does have some context as it will will say “The (animal) is in the (mode of transportation)” but that’s all I’ve really noticed. I feel it would be a much better toy if it has just a bit more variance, maybe more buttons or even move on more than one axis!

The media could not be loaded.  This V-Tech Twist Animal Cube is great little educational toy to keep my 15 month old occupied especially while traveling. It's a neat concept but it'll take a little while for the child to figure that rotating the cube changes the cube the animal is in. I would encourage any parent to sit with your child and demonstrate how to use the toy for optimum fun.

My 3 1/2 son enjoys playing with this toy. It is educational as it provides sound of the letters which my son easily learns and repeats! The twisting is an additional feature that helps my son with his reflexes and the animal sound makes him enjoy it more.

We have received and purchased many VTech toys for our young daughter and she loves them. The lights and sounds keep her entertained, and the educational aspect of the toy can be used for a long time.She loves to press the buttons and watch all the lights and sounds as it tells her letters, numbers, and animals.We have come to trust VTech products and will seek them out when making gift recommendations or purchases.

I picked this up for my 12 month old grandson and it is just perfect for him! It is colorful, easy to twist, and there are buttons on the cube that light up and can be pressed. Every action gives some kind of fun feedback and there is so much to do while playing with this. The size is perfect for his little hands to hold, not too small and not too big.

With all of my children I have used VTech learning toys. I was excited to see this rotating cube learning toy. It fits right in my daughter's hands and it keeps her entertained while learning. Each time you rotate the cube the animal moves to a new vehicle, as the cube lights up and sings. It's pretty cool and we enjoy it.

It claims that it has however many phrases and songs but I feel like I just keep hearing the same ones. Wish I didn't throw out the packaging and returned it instead, not something I would keep in my toy rotation for my almost 2.5 yo, possibly for 1-2yos.

I thought it would turn vertically as well but it only turns horizontally. My grandson was not too interested in it for that reason

I ordered this thinking our 10-month-old would be interested despite the 1-3year age recommendation. At this stage, our son has extremely limited interest in it before casting it aside for another toy.The toy has four lit buttons on the top, and the upper set of blocks can be rotated around. There is very little rotation resistance and once rotated, the blocks stay in place (they do not spring back). Build quality seems robust.Included are two “AAA” batteries, though documentation indicates that they are demo batteries and will likely need to be replaced early on.This is a unique small toy that I think would be entertaining to babies/toddlers over 12 months.

We got this toy, hoping that our daughter (2+ years at this time) will play with it for some time. It caught her attention, but since it was limited in the activities, she got bored very quickly. Hence, I would recommend the toy for a younger age, between 12 and 18 months. The built quality is high, as usual from VTech, and the sounds are surprisingly clear (normally, at this price range, the sounds are muffled at best!).

Our 3.5 year old enjoyed this toy. I like that it asks her questions, and she can interact with it, learning as she plays!
